Leafs were elite in not losing in regulation until their last 3 game skid. All with leads to boot.

[/QUOTE]

You call them “elite “ for being .500 in regulation and their inability to protect leads ?

You obviously missed the point
You were incorrect to view Leafs as a good OT team.
8 wins and 8 losses is not a good OT team.
Not losing in regulation got them to OT 16 times. Should be 19.
Elite at not losing in regulation prior to the last 3 games.
Which part of this statement did you not comprehend.
Prior to the last 3 games they were not .500 in regulation.
Prior to the last 3 games they had only 10 regulation losses.

Winnipeg has 10 regulation losses. Vancouver has 11 regulation losses.
I never called them an elite team. I called them elite at not losing in regulation prior to the last 3 games.
Not losing in regulation the last 3 games would have gotten them 3 more points.

If the league gives out points for losing then the smart thing to do is to take it.

Superstar's whole post is so stupid it's mind-numbing.

His argument is that if you discount 1/3 of the Leafs loses and don't count those, then they've got regulation loses comparable to Vancouver and Winnipeg.

Let's try looking at wins instead of loses - forget this "the smart thing to do is to get it to OT" bullshit, which is what you'd do if you're incapable of winning.

Half way through the season the Leafs have won 13 games in regulation time.
Vancouver and Winnipeg have both won 27 games in regulation. That's the difference.

He just threw up a smoke screen and tried to convince us that this Leaf team is elite at what they’re doing.

That was your point. You summed up your long post with your last two statements.

‘The last line of your post #975 was :

“ Leafs were elite in not losing in regulation until their last 3 game skid. All with leads to boot. “

These are your own words, not mine.

... and if you consider Leafs a good OT team at 8 wins and 8 losses then I can see how you can miss the point and come up with this ludicrous summation that Leafs are an elite team. They are 21 wins and 21 losses for christ's sake. That is an average team.
I'm not going to try to explain it to you cause you won't be able to comprehend.

Being elite at not losing in regulation does not necessarily mean you win a lot of games.

You picked on me saying that they did very well in getting 16 points in ot because you were pissed that I said all those negative things (which were true) about the Leafs, and you’re just beating around the bush trying to mask a very mediocre team as an elite team.

I’m a Leaf fan but I resent the fact that there are many obnoxious fans like you that give a bad name to all Leaf fans. It’s fans like you that turn many casual fans into haters. Being a fan doesn’t mean you can’t be critical but it’s a concept that’s beyond your comprehension.

Terb is like the motley crew. There's the good, the bad and the ugly. In my case, I try to limit my interactions to the intelligent/rational/civil posters like yourself.

The Leafs have lost 4 in a row, I'm assuming Joseph Woll is still on the IL.Good, a high ankle sprain can't be rushed. Leafs have destroyed prospects in the past by bringing them back to soon.

Unless he is the second coming of Caret Price/Patrick Roy, the Leafs still have problem areas in front of their goalie.

One area is lack of team speed. The recent Leaf teams were never speedy but they seem slower this year.

The goaltending hasn't been their primary problem in the last 4 games. Defensive breakdowns by both the defencemen and the forwards has been the main problem. Could also use a little more productivity from the main forwards.

I was watching the talking heads during the intermission between the 1st and 2nd period. The consensus is that the Leafs are too slow.

One star for the coach(es) who spotted the hand pass and called a timeout to make sure of it..

Speaking of Matthews, where would the Leafs be without his production and how can anyone question his performance ?

Leafs record when leading after 2 periods first 39 games 16-0-2. Yes, that's zero regulation loses.
For the season it's 17-3-2.
