I actually like the top 4 conferences getting the byes. Awards teams for actually winning their conferences. With only 4 major conferences left it should be automatic which ones get the byes except if your conference has an off year ie: ACC. Also only giving byes to conference champs may actually force Norte Dame to join one.

SMU and Indiana needed to be included over Alabama (who lost to Oklahoma and Vandy), but the conference champions should not automatically get first round byes, i.e. Boise and ASU. Oregon got screwed for having to play Ohio state.

next round:

Penn State vs Boise
PSU -10.5 Penn state wins but won't cover.
Boise will use old tricks plays from 2007 Fiesta win over OU.

Texas over ASU:
Texas -14, take the longhorns cover, won't be close.

Ohio state over Oregon.
OSU -2.5. take OSU cover.
ironically Chip Kelly used to coach Oregon, and the game is at Rose Bowl the home of UCLA LOL

ND vs UGA
UGA -1.5, UGA will cover despite losing Beck.
I think Penn will win and cover…..Texas for sure will win and cover…I’m gonna take Oregon but it’s gonna be a great game….Notre Dame is overrated but I’m not sure how Georgia will be without Beck, I’m going Notre Dame

I'm cheering for Boise State and they will be prepared for the matchup vs. Penn State but I think the Nittany Lions just have too much in their arsenal. I could see it being decided by one score so I will take BSU to cover, Penn State to win.

Arizona State vs. Texas. AZ State won the Big 12 and played some quality opponents, but they haven't played any elite teams like Texas. 13.5 point spread is a lot but if Texas is on its game they could blow AZ State off the field. I'll lean Longhorns to win and cover.

Ohio State is favored by 2.5 over #1 Oregon. This is the toughest matchup to predict. They played earlier in the season and Oregon won by a point. But they haven't played a game since Dec 7 so they may be rusty having almost a month off. If I had to choose I would take Ohio State but what I do really like in this game is the over 52.5.

Even without Beck I still see GA covering the 2.5 vs. ND. They will utilize their running attack combined with physical defense to stymie the Irish attack. I see a lower scoring affair with the Bulldogs prevailing by 6-9 points.
