I'm sure that frank will step forward and answer every single question.

NOT.

Aside from Crazy Diamond I asked them all.
I told you he wouldn't answer.

He's as chicken as the Hamas terrorists who hide in tunnels after killing Israelis and then allow the innocent Gazans to take the brunt of the retaliatory blows.

The tweet said the video of paraflares was showing a war crime. It was fake propaganda. There is no "right for wrong reasons" with propaganda. It's just lies.
That tweet was bullshit, I admit. It wasn't from Al Jazeera it was second hand posting of an arabic Al J video. Looks like its from a troll account as there are multiple copies. My bad, I should have checked it.

This is likely the real Al J video, though its not off of their social feed but at least is watermarked. Are these flares or WP?

Uhhh. Ok. You agree the CCW clearly doesn't cover WP, but you think maybe a court will lose its mind and decide it is covered by it. Got it.

The US used it in the War on Terror as an incindiary and were never tried with war crimes. Israel has used it in the past and weren't charged with war crimes. Cross your fingers if you want to, but I think you've lost your mind.
No, as you previously noted its about whether the courts would rule that the targets were civilian or disproportionate. I accept they wouldn't press charges as chemical weapons or incendiary devices.

It was also Palestinians, not Hamas. Unless you're saying all Palestinians are Hamas. Which is ridiculous and basically says Israel should just engage in genocide.
Moot point, and I'm not trying to be antagonistic.

At this point I'm even sure what other options you think Hamas should have tried. They've repeatedly tried negotiations, they've called for ICC investigations, they've tried international pressure. After 2014 Hamas held a voluntary ceasefire and refused to respond to Israeli aggressions, including stopping Islamic Jihad from firing rockets. That lasted until 2018 when the people of Gaza went to protest at the Great March of Return. Palestinians in Gaza have also tried protests, international calls for action, BDS.

So what else do you think Hamas or the Palestinians in Gaza should have tried that they haven't in the last 17 years?

I quoted what Netanyahu said is their stated goal, despite your assertion that he never said that. I showed that you lied.
I didn't say Netanyahu would say this in public, I said Israel minister of defence, the one in charge of the IDF, said it.
You're trying to move the goal posts again as you know you are wrong.

Today you've refused to comment on Israel deliberately targeting a refugee camp and killing hundreds.
That was an act of terrorism that you refuse to denounce.

Its looking very much like your goal is also genocide.

Shack, you're too afraid to even walk to a Palestine protest in Toronto and ask people there to denounce Oct 7.
You are the coward here.

The bombing at Jabilia looks horrific. There are 50+ confirmed dead and likely hundreds more. I have no idea how they will ever be able to find or count the bodies in this rubble. Targeting a refugee camp is truly despicable.

Its time for a ceasefire.
End apartheid.
End the occupation.

You've just accused Israel of committing a war crime. No quarter is expressly forbidden by Geneva and Hague Conventions.
He actively supported no quarter earlier in this thread or another.

It really sounds like you're saying you support known war crimes. That's a strange position if you're not just trolling.
But Butler is on the record as being pro war crimes.
(As long as it is the people he agrees with doing them. Then they aren't war crimes, because the good guys can't commit war crimes.)

Or, you can interpret it that it is another case where he is aligned with Trump and believes that war crimes are the most efficient way to make wars shorter, so a real leader will encourage war crimes and therefore bring about peace.

I get it, you're being very clear: you believe Israel is engaged in war crimes and you support their war crimes so much that you challenge any international group to do anything about it.

It's refreshingly honest for a member of the troll parade.
I should have just scrolled down further and I would have seen you already got it.
Sorry.

I accept the reality that, just like in Iraq, In Ukraine, in Tibet, and in many other places the ICC is a paper tiger to the realities of the world. So I choose to pick a side that I think serves the best interests of Liberal Democracy in the world. That will be a better partner to Canada.

Because Hamas needs to die. And the cost is going to be high.
Ahh.
The "Military action is the best way to support Democratic Values" approach, with a soupcon of "War crimes are just hard-headed realism".

Israel should not be happy but it is reacting in response. Should they do nothing instead?
Something must be done.
This is something.
Therefore this must be done.

It's terrible fucking logic and it gets used all the time and it almost never accomplishes anything good.

Yes. Exactly. As opposed to continue to let Hamas fester for more decades.

Got a better solution?

Disclaimer - I Hate Bibi

I agree with this in principle but that's just not facts on the ground. The most casualties Israel has experienced via terrorism the last 60 years all PALED in comparison with what happened on Oct 7. I'd call killing 1400+ civilians execution-style as a Hamas declaration of war - Bibi is absolutely right that this is a time for war. They are not people that can be reasoned with nor will Hamas even sit at the same table - so who the hell does Israel talk peace with? Netanyahu warned Biden right away that they would have to go in, so it's not like this is shocking. War is Hell and Israel is hellbent on finishing the one Hamas started.
Amazes me that some seem to expect Israel to “do something different”…When for 75 years, peace has been tried, and it’s always been rejected. Almost as though they don’t want to face reality. And the cycle here continues too

Lay out your peace plan, the people who you would have negotiate it, as in names and why you think they are proper representation on both sides who have the power to set terms in good faith that will be adhered to.

You are really good at bitching, but so far piss poor on offering anything worthwhile.

Or simply ask them, why they think they are smarter and more capable than the dozens of people from Left and Right wing administrations plus others that haven’t been successful. And subsequently, if they think they are, why are they posting here, and not working for a government.

As far as Israel’s “war crimes” go. All the whining in the world isn’t going to stop them. Not presently, not historically
Has it?

Or do you also naively believe the US or others are going to March into the knisset and slap cuffs on them and stop things that way. You must.

Or you can sit back, chill, accept the reality that Israel is going to do what Israel thinks is right for itself…that none of you are smarter or more capable than those that have and failed, and when the dust settles, if some want to pursue charges they can, and that’s when the pieces can be picked up…

aka “god grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change and the wisdom….”

As far as the ground offensive goes.time will tell.

Neither. Flares fall slowly, those are falling fast. Here's a video of known WP. Note the conic dispersion from the point of burst.

Ignore the comments though; they're also arguing that WP is an incindiary and a war crime, which is wrong. But at least you can see actual WP use.

No, as you previously noted its about whether the courts would rule that the targets were civilian or disproportionate. I accept they wouldn't press charges as chemical weapons or incendiary devices.
Where did I note that?

You want me to give an opinion on it the Court's will or won't rule that targets hit by Israel with WP are civilian or not, from a video that doesn't even show WP, and despite the fact that I've made no comments about the civilian targets?

I wish you would quit strawmanning me. I've been very clear: the only issue I had with your post was that the video shown was not WP and that the comments accompanying it stating the use of WP was a war crime were incorrect. That's the extent of what I said and it's disingenuous to try and twist my words and ask me to defend something else.

Starving people is a war crime. Why do you support war crimes?
Waiting out terrorists in the holes isn't. Have you seen what going to happen? They cut off that 7km section from the south. Next will be to move any civilians out while vetting all the men. As well as transfer any patients to real israeli care. Aid will now probably be allowed into the south fully.

And the IDF will systematically demolish every shred of Hamas. People, bunkers, tunnels, stocked supplies, all of it. They will shut off the air circulation in the tunnels to drive them out. And either capture or kill them. Those that don't get buried alive by munitions.

Its a very good strategy.
