Oh so according to your "big" mind, doing the same shit over and over again, is what is "right". Got it. Aka, you have nothing to actually say. Why was I expecting something different from you? It's par for the course!.
You have nothing do you orange man. You can’t even grasp some of the best Negotiators/ambassadors and more have tried and failed…for decades. So all your left with is bleats.

retaliatory strikes against a civilian population
They are striking at Hamas, not the civilians. Just because Hamas is using the civilians as shields is not of Israel's doing and as a result is not responsible for what happens to them.

Once the Gazans see how they are being used as pawns, uncaringly manipulated by Hamas, and are finally fed up with the suffering that Hamas brought upon them, there is a chance that they might rise up against their true oppressors. They know full well when Hamas sets up their weapons right in their midst. At some point they will say "enough is enough", hopefully.

Its not a retaliatory attack against a largely civilian population, its a retaliatory attack against Hamas who hides amongst a largely civilian population.
Firstly, even though Hamas are embedded in the civilian population, it's still a retaliatory attack against a civilian population. The semantics there don't change it. There is still both a moral and legal issue involved in deliberately targeting civilians.

Hamas deliberately targeted civilians and that's a war crime. Hamas should be tracked down and executed for that. It would be horribly hypocritical of me, or anyone else, to justify Israel doing that exact same thing. Israel believes that are justified because it's in retaliation to the Hamas attack, but Hamas believes they are justified because it's in retaliation to the illegal occupation. So where does it end? An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. Everyone thinks they are right. I don't see a problem with standing up for the civilians and saying I don't care if the attackers think they are justified or not, they are deliberately killing civilians and that's wrong.

And what choice do Israel have though??
They have the choice not to attack civilians.

If they dont try and completely eliminate Hamas there will be many more terror attacks in the future.
So, I'm happy to have a discussion, but I don't want to spend hours if we can't agree on the basic facts, so I'd rather address those first and see where we end up. This was basically my problem with shack's post too... he implied the terrorist attacks could be ended, which I took to mean exactly what you plainly stated: the complete elimination of Hamas.

What do you think the chances are that Hamas can be completely eliminated? I think it's 0%. So you really think it's realistically higher than that?

No shack. Israel is carpet bombing Gaza. There is nowhere to hide, nowhere is safe. Not schools, not mosques, not UNRWA, nowhere.
Even hospitals

Where would you hide when they do this?

I'll be happy with anything over 50%

No. They are retaliating against Hamas. It is not Israel's fault that Hamas is putting the civilians in front of the bullets that are meant for Hamas.

Do you approve of Hamas' tactics? Is it ok to embed themselves among the civilians?

Because that is where Hamas is hiding. Seeing as you approve of the Oct. 7 attack and you damn well knew that Israel would retaliate against Hamas, it 100% means that you approve of what is happening in Gaza right now.

You have ugly values driven by pure hate.

You approved of 233 settler terrorist attacks before this started and approved of settlers storming Al Aqsa setting off this round of violence.
Now you approve of genocide.

Choose peace.
Ceasefire.
End apartheid.

Do you think that justifies targeting an entire population and killing everyone like this?
They are targetting Hamas. It is not Israel's fault that these cowards hide behind women and children. Hamas is making an entire population a huge shield made of skin, flesh and bone.

Instead of you making them (Hamas) your heroes, you should be condemning them as terrorists and cowards.

So some facts.
There is nothing that might instill confidence any peace agreement will work. Not historically, not presently. That’s a fact some don’t want to accept.

No one has previously succeeded. No-one. Another fact some don’t seem to understand.

If Israel does nothing as some want, that will just embolden and enable Hamas and others.

If they back off Hamas wil just come back. As will others.

If Israel continues to do what they have been doing. That too is unacceptable.

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. While it remains to be seen, and time will tell. Would appear most Western leaders understand all that, unlike some here. Then there’s this inconvenient thing about self determination.

And when the dust settles, then Israel can answer for things and help pick up the pieces.

That's not exactly true. They are deliberately targeting areas populated by civilians where they suspect Hamas is operating. They know they're killing civilians. They hope they're killing Hamas.

The laws of war are very clear. Israel is engaged in war crimes, the same way Hamas engaged in war crimes. For anyone to casually endorse the killing of civilians by either side I find quite disturbing, especially when they simply think it's a matter of semantics.

It's crazy to me that someone thinks the way to convince someone not to support something, is to bomb them and kill their family. "Do you like us and hate them yet? No? Let me kill you dad. I'm only doing this because they're so evil. How about now? Still don't support us? Ok, I'll kill your sister and your dog. Now?" I mean, c'mon now. Be logical.

I do not approve of Hamas' tactics and right from my first post I've said Hamas is a terrorist organization and it's members should be hunted down and executed. I've explicitly condemned any deliberate targeting of civilians by Hamas. The use of human shields by Hamas is abhorrent. Hamas are war criminals.

I've been very clear in my condemnations. I ask you to acknowledge you have read my condemnations so that I know I won't have to constantly repeat myself as I have already with you.
