Correct you can't win a game 0-0 but those runs coming in change the momentum of the game to the twins, being down 2 runs may as well be down 10 runs with way the jays score runs these days.

I've been a big Vlady supporter, but he did get picked off at second (with Springer at third) with Bo at bat. I hate to say it, but since they've been together for years they are Frick and Frat and should have been better together.
Schneider all but admitted it wasn't his decision.
He talked about "organizational decisions" and then said it was tough pulling Berrios because "it was the best stuff he had all year". There was no way he'd repeat the mistake he admitted making with Gausman last year.
p.s. Berrios is a competitor and I'd be surprised if they didn't tell him pre-game that getting pulled early was a possibility. If he had no advanced warning he would have exploded when he got pulled. Great stuff and only 47 pitches.

They just said on the post game show that Schneider said Berrios had his best stuff of the year. Head scratcher for sure. Pre game strategy be damned sometimes you have to ride the hot hand.
They back into the last playoff spot - foreshadowing was Saturday game against Tampa....win and their in but couldn't score in the last 5 innings. The thing that gets me is the lack of passion and anger. Schneider is a milquetoast. Next year they will finish 4th (the Yankees will win more) unless major shake up. Fire Schneider and everyone connected with the offence. Bring in some one with passion like a Bret Boone type. And what the hell do you do with your so called superstar?

The Jays should have fired their hitting coach at the very least many months ago, when it was VERY apparent that they can’t hit thier way out of a wet paper bag.

Their starting pitching has been decimated with injuries.
They sure can hit though.
Really they couldn't come through all season, not just when things were on the line. So many on the team hit below their expectations, and more importantly their average. Springer, Vlady, Chapman, Espinal, Varsho, Merrifield, Kirk all hit below both the expection for them and their career averages, all season long.
The way the Jays lost couldn't have been more disappointing. Once again they did not score and left a bunch of guys on base. Pulling Berrios when he was locked in and pitching great made no sense. Vladdy killed a potential rally by getting picked off at 2nd base and continues to demonstrate a lack of maturity and baseball smarts.
Anything can happen in the playoffs. The Phillies eliminated Braves last year which was surprising.
I didn't think the Rays would be eliminated this early.
I have said this about both the Leafs and the Jays. Corporate owned teams will stick with bad mgt. much longer than an individual old rich guy who wants to win before he dies. Shapiro is a complete disaster, Shanahan is a moron and a complete disaster.

I didn't watch either game and had no plan to. Fertilized my lawn last night. Played disc golf tonight. Hell, doing laundry would have been a better use of my time.

I mean the writing was on the wall when they faced Cole and King, could barely muster a hit and were shut out two games in a row.
