Gausman - game 1
Berrios - game 2, thought it would be Bassitt

Rain in forecast for today in Minneapolis, if game is rained out, will they play a double header tomorrow?

No chance. Too much money at stake. Besides, it's a small chance of showers after 8 and the game will be done by then.

Heard they are losing much TV audience with the early start. Also, I think Minny is an hour behind us so even earlier start time for them.

I'm old enough to remember when MLB went to some night games so they could catch a larger TV audience.

There are four games today, two in the afternoon, and two at night. Different networks are broadcasting one game each. The starting times are staggered so that many fans can watch two full games if they want to, or the better part of more than two games, if one or more games is uncompetitive, or they only care about certain teams.

The National League teams draw a larger audience, so they get the night slots.

FYI, there are other series than Jays/Twins.

Arizona/Brewers @ 7:08 and Miami/Philly @ 8:08. I think MLB knows how to schedule their games to maximize their viewership and advertising revenue.

They would lose more of an audience by putting the Jays in prime time. The Americans don't give a shit about Toronto.

A video game sim has the Jays losing in game 3. This feels like a likely scenario to me too. This team does not inspire me as one that can elevate their game.

The team looks good on paper but lacks discipline and chemistry. Vlad has to go, Schnieder needs to go.

I’m not big on Shapiro/ Atkins and Rogers ownership either, so I have to live with my bias.
I am a big AA fan and I hope the Braves take another Word Series.

Matt Olsen, Marcell Ozuna, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley. Ronald Acuña, Jr…… that is a crazy lineup, and the Braves do not fuck around. I think that the lineup can literally murder an opponent potentially.

You and I both. I mean I’m going to watch them, and I’m feeling the crisp fall weather, which is a beautiful time to watch baseball, but I won’t bother getting excited until they make it to the ALCS. I almost hate the 2023 Blue Jays I really don’t want them to succeed, they don’t deserve it.

This is my feelings exactly

The Royals won it all in 2015 with elite defense and a great bullpen....The Jays are more than capable here.
I say they take out the twins and make it to the second round.
There is huge difference in the 15 Royals and this Jays team imo.
That Royals team played hard, everyone contributed, they seemed to get hits whenever they really needed them. They were punching above their weight but at no time did you think they were going to lose. They were one of the most impressive ws winners in recent memory. Reminds me of the Raptor team that won, tons of heart and grit.
The Jays are the Jays, what can you say or hope for?

Question.

How many games did you see them play in the regular season? Maybe they just got hot at the right time when you saw them in the playoffs. I think it's a fair question.

I saw a couple of series against the Jays.
That 15 Royal team started hot and was class of the AL for most of the season as I remember. They cooled off at times but put it together for the playoffs which is what championship teams do.
But who cares about regular season anyway? It seems to me the only sports fans that care about the regular season Are Jay and Leaf fans.

Also, I believe Canadian viewers don't count in the MLB tv ratings.

Turned on the game not too long ago and Beau ran to home when Rivera was telling him to stop. In Beau's defense, he was gonna go for it and wasn't looking at the coach at all it seems, or maybe things changed so fast, Rivera changed his call from run to stop and it was too late by then, damn.
