Getting sacked, or gaoled, would happen to someone lower on the rung who did this.
The ignorance of them and their supporters to this is breathtaking.
The Russians and Chinese are constantly trying to intercept messages. I guarantee hostile nations are flooding DC looking for all sorts of recently sacked CIA and State Dept and FBI and NSA personnel to harvest as much Intel as they can. A pissed off bloke w a TSSCI clearance would be very tempted to cash in.
But again, these nitwits are about the show, not about any actual improvement as they cannot think more than 1 step ahead.

America had so many advantages over the Chinese and Russians and this administration is destroying them systematically, almost as if a Russian Spy was directing it.
USA had soft power through USAID and VOA. Gone!
USA had allies - Gone!
USA had firm military alliances- gone!
USA was trusted to keep it's word -gone!
USA ran by the rule of law - gone!
USA funded the best science in the world - reduced and muzzled!
USA got the "top draft picks" (immigrants) from every nation on earth who were attracted to freedom, free speech, rule of law, support of science - gone!
This is just a start of the damage.

Gotcha toward those who voted for Trump, as something that finally proves that Trump and his team are inherently evil and incompetent.
In that context, hell yeah.

I was just watching the hearing, and those MAGAs embarrassed themselves. The only problem is when one is supporting one's cult leader one has no shame they don't give a shit to how stupid they look. trump uber alles.

But they looked so bad, it was comical. Not one repug asked a single question about the gaffe.

You people need to settle down…CNN and the rest of the anti-Trump crowd are the only ones making it an issue.
I did not realize that CNN is so powerful so as to be able to force a senate hearing like today. LOL

Your assertion is almost as dumb those repugs being asked questions today. "D'uhh. I don't remember?" Hell, it only happened a week ago.

No one was hurt…
Total blind luck.

It's like someone running a red light and their defense is, "No one was hurt." You people should say nothing instead of embarrassing yourself like you just did.

That guy in the airplane kinda looks like you when you found out you were a DEI hire and got all triggered. I wonder how many times you complained to the mods about that one. lol.

This reminds me of when Harper’s FA minister left secret documents at his biker ex-GF’s apartment. He had to resign over that. Seems cons are just bad at keeping secrets in matters of national security.

Overblown story...one person fucked up with a stupid mistake, nobody was hurt by it and I'm sure it won't happen again.
No it isn't.

As someone who firmly believes Hilary Clinton fucked up with her server this is a worse security breach. It was a Cabinet lvl only high security clearance thread using Signal, when something like this should be encrypted. It involved an operation that included not just drones but boots on the ground.

That one was killed is not the issue. It's that it happened. They were that dumb and uncaring of operational security.

Stop defending based on partisanship and not facts.

Guess what? When you are fully in charge you are fully accountable. When you claim the previous administration is fucking everything up, and the use the exact same process and this happens, you get called to explain yourself.

That's what civilian oversight means. They are adults. If they can't stand the heat, resign.

Remember lads other countries have extensive intelligence agencies too. They've profiled this new administration and Trump. They know they're dealing with morons. They know these folks are fast and loose with intel so the foriegners will be around to pick up the scraps. They also know the inner circle cannot be trusted with keeping secret info secret. Thus foreign allied intel will not share as much w usa. And for sure if the USA keeps attacking them verbally or economically, and see the usa cozy up to the evil russian government, they will not share key intel.
There are all sorts of knock on effects.
This is dead serious.
