great game by the Leafs

horrible game by the Rangers, who IMO don't really have any 'D' game to help out their 'A' list goaltender.

Was that the Leafs D...

..in Ranger uniforms tonight???.....Kilger beat Ranger D at least 3 or 4 times to the outside...and talk about defensive breakdowns...the Rangers leave Wellwood alone twice for one timers..and a couple of bounces did end up on Leaf sticks to get buried in the back of the net.

Amazing what a little going to the net...and actually shooting the puck with some velocity will do...but I'm holding my breath after this one....remember what happened after the last blowout victory...a losing streak...

The only thing I understand about the Leafs is I don't understand !!!!! To predict anything is crazy ... This team ( which is made up similar to last year ).. Started off like Stanley Cup condenders .. Had a middle part of the season that was worthy of a lottery pick team and ended the season like
they could win it all if they just had on more game on their schedule .. So
like I said ... The only thing I understand is I don't understand ..
Kind of like women eh? LOL

When you think you're gonna score, you don't
When you don't think you're gonna score, you do
When you think you have them figured out, they change
When you think she's the one, she ain't

yeah, and paying them more doesn't guarantee success nor does it guarantee a better time!

Leaf nation needed that game last night. It should tie us over for our next losing streak. Not that I have lost complete faith in the Leafs or anything...:D

a good thing going for the leafs is spread out offence this season...

already they have 4 skaters with over 10 goals and they have two Dmen in the top 5 defenseman scoring.

QUOTE=21pro]I question the same thing. I also question why JFJr has kept Paul Maurice. he's flat out failed.

well the rangers were the bad team , more than the leafs were the good team ..
maybe its the return of carlo carjackmenova that has turned the fortunes around...

As quality a player as Sundin is .. he's not a Franchise game controlling player.. so if your statment is true (and hey we go way back so I believe your right) then the leafs won't go...

Hal Gill looked like........Hal Gill tonight. Directly blame him for the goals that blew the game wide open.

So much for that 9 goal high.

Belfour looked pretty good tonight.

in fact, Belfour's #'s are now slightly better than Raycroft's... had JFJr kept Belfour and signed him to the $700,000 he asked for, we'd still have Rask in the system and an extra 1.15 million on the boards for cap space... heck, that woulda been enough to steal Andrei Zyuzin from the Wild, Mike Commodore from Carolina, or Mark Eaton from Nashville.

In fact Belfour was a total bust last year and was not worth a plug nickel.

Ain't hindsight grand.

Geez that leaf defense sucks.... did you see those passes out of the D zone ... the panthers had trouble handling a few of them.... boys lay those passes a little flatter will ya ! .. At least McCabe rolled over and played dead.. who says ya can't teach an overpaid dog a new trick ! .

no good goalie can play great without somewhat competent defensive defensemen on a consistent basis. just look around the league.

i don't know if this is an incompetent GM job or shitty coaching... in most nights it's beginning to look like both.

on one side of the argument you can clearly see that JFJr has improved the team roster-wise...

on the other side of the argument you can also see that JFJr supposedly improved the coaching of the team- going with 'his man' that aligns with 'his plan' that started back in 2002. boy, the "i gotta plan" statement sure is working it's wonders...

my guess is this is JFJr's plan in reality now. he's got the players he wants, paid the salaries he's comfortable with, and includes 'his man' behind the bench. by all accounts, this sounds like JFJr's 'dream team'... lol...

their grades probably coulda been alot higher had the leafs signed Bondra... man is he flying and does he ever look like a perfect match for Sundin. especially when he has to play alongside O'Neil and Battaglia!

Paul Maurice said pre game that tonight's game is a "Must Win"
