I was at the game last night in Buffalo.

They downright stink, no trade is going to help this team this year..
They have to blow it up, I would only keep the kids, Stajan, Steen, Wellwood anyone else can go.

Once again the Leaf fans out numbered the Sabre fans. In the third period there were loud chants of "FIRE QUINN"

The leaf fans showed little class during some of the pre-game festivities honouring Lafontaine. A couple of times during the ceremony chants of
"Go Leafs GO" were heard... this was an embarrassing situation, in my opinion.

Don't feel so bad, we're not that bad. The Chicago Cubs haven't been to the World Series in 61 years, the Leafs still have 22 years to go.

Here's what wrong with this franchise:

The Leafs best chance to win the Cup was in 2002, after that year it was a case of diminishing returns. That year, the Leafs had the Devils on the ropes and should have eliminated them. Instead Tie Dummy goes Bertuzzi and elbows Scott Niedermeyer in the face; the Devils rally to win the series. Tie Dummy should have never been allowed back on the team, instead he's still here and getting a salary that grossly exceeds his talent.

As for that trade I mentioned, the Leafs have done it before when they brought back Wendel Clark and when they got Owen Nolan.

And, yes, Mats Sundin should leave. He's done all that he could for this franchise and has been unappreciated for it. He'll probably win the Stanley Cup with whichever team he goes to.
I thought the Leafs lost to the 'Canes in the 2002 eastern conference final.

How much more can these guys take? :D

3-2 Sens

Does Quinn now get the hook, or will the Leafs simply wait until the end of the season? Or maybe he just retires. This is crunch time for the Leafs. Now after the word is that Lindros is having season ending surgery for his wrist, things look completely done.

This is ugly. Would they even have the guts to fire Quinn? I think Paul Maurice is sounding good right now....but aside from that, these guys are a tired, mentally drained bunch. And their coach is right there with them if not worse.

No sense trying to even attempt to make the playoffs now coz they are not winning anything this year. Better off having a high draft pick.

Is it just me or did the ice surface seem extremely tiny after watching the olympics? I mean, it looked like they were playing on a postage stamp LOL

Yup, leafs are gone.......

I think they will wait fot the end of the season before letting Quinn go.

Suprising thing is that they played a pretty good game last night.

In Buffalo on Friday I was embarassed to be a Leaf fan... a good junior team would have beat them.

For all the Sundin bashers, the guy is playing his heart out. You can't always see the way he is working during a televised game. Live; he is skating hard both ways, but he has no linemates. Steen is OK, but still a small rookie and last night... Kilgar? he would be 3rd or 4th line on most other teams.

Not that Kilger's any kind of game breaker, but I think the Leafs have received more for their money from him than 3/4 of the rest of the team. He's been a dependable utility player.

I also think Sundin has worked hard and it's too bad that Quinn either can't or won't give him better linemates. The results of Turin show that he can still be very effective.

Very true about Kilger...

They should look at trading Sundin before the deadline. He is 35 yrs old and won't be around if the Leafs are ever a contender. Do him a favour and send him to a team that has a shot at the cup. You could probably pick up some very good young players for him. The only problem will be his salary and the cap.
I know he says that he wants to finish his career with the Leafs...

..outside of Sundin the Leafs have no talent.

....the Leafs have some talent..not an abundance of it ..or real high end talent..but there are teams that would be glad to trade for some of their players...Tucker and McCabe , for what ever flaws they have, could draw something on the trade block. Steen has certainly been a capeable rookie, and shows signs of having some great upside. As much as they overpaid to keep Kaberle, there are very few teams in this league where he would not crack the top 4 on defense. Ponikorovsky could turn into a very good player, under a system that wasn't so rigid as Quinn's "positional" play. This team is not talent laden by any stretch of the imagination, but playing in the weaker Estern Conference, they have enough talent on paper to make the playoffs. The million dollar question is who is to blame..is it players not putting out and performing to their abilities..or a coaching style that is behid the curve in the new NHL (my choice)

Leafs 5, Canadiens 3

well rested Leafs outplay very tired Canadiens.

all the terb's most hated leafs came to play tonight... Sundin, Allison, Tucker, Domi, Belfour, Antropov, Kaberle and McCabe... among others.. quite a strong showing, actually... which is a surprise because they haven't been able to bring much since December.

have to give them 'A' for the honest effort... the first time i've seen this yet this season.

i don't know who hates Tucker, but I wonder how much the ML organization thinks of him... back in October I wrote this:

...they should let Darcy Tucker play 'his' game. Ever since coming to the leafs, Darcy has been typecasted as a mucker, dump and chaser, checker, whatever you wanna call him. That's not what he was drafted for. In 1994-1995 he led the WHL in SHOTS! ... he also scored 64 goals in 64 games...
I still believe this today... in fact, for as long as Tucker has been a leaf... he should want outta here! he is a 2nd line winger, but leads the team in goals! that is sad. he only gets about 13 minutes per game... i wonder what he'd do with 20 minutes per game. i'm sure he would've been a 35-40 goal scorer if he was consistently on the top line... oh yeah, and leafs offense would have 10-15 more goals scored on the year. considering they lost quite a few 1 goal games, they coulda turned them around into wins possibly or scored a couple gamewinners in OT...

Mariusz Czerkawski has been claimed off of waivers by Boston.
Czerkawski, who began his career in Boston, has appeared in 19 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. Czerkawski has scored four goals and added one assist.

I guess Belak is a better player.... sheesh

They never gave this guy a real chance, it's to bad

leafs lose again... this time to the islanders ... 2-1 SO.

how do you only register 23 shots against a team that stripped away all of their defence the day before...

the leafs played against an AHL team last night... pretty much, anyways.

Sundin... 0 shots

Tucker... 0 shots also.

i see they're really gettin the best from their leaders.

leafs 5-1 over Tampa.

30 shots on goal! see what happens when you put a few more pucks to the net!

this is only the 15th time the leafs have put 30 shots or more on net! 15 out of 62...

that Ondrus kid looked pretty good. 1st to the puck like no other leaf. good checking line forward...

Allison was the best player again tonight.

Tampa looks very unconfident.
