leafs 5-1 over Tampa.

30 shots on goal! see what happens when you put a few more pucks to the net!

this is only the 15th time the leafs have put 30 shots or more on net! 15 out of 62...

that Ondrus kid looked pretty good. 1st to the puck like no other leaf. good checking line forward...

Allison was the best player again tonight.

Tampa looks very unconfident.

....especially 5 on 5... they would have been at their usual low 20's for shots had it not been for 2 long 5 on 3's..and their ability to move the puck out of their own end has to be some of the worst in the league...this team needs to play much better if it expects to get that last playoff spot..

especially if Huet in Montreal can keep up his play now that he knows or thinks he has some competition for the #1 job...

Too much, too little, too late

Allison played with some fire, Ondrus is a keeper, Telquist won the game for them in the early going.
Tampa played terrible, so don't put too much into this win.

Let's not forget that the leafs could have 8th spot and possibly better had they improved their shootout and overtime records...

6 step plan......here goes....

1) Take Tie Domi into a small room

2) He'll be constantly talking ,so tape his fucking mouth shut with some duct tape.

3) Put him in the trunk of a car, you only need a small one 'cause he is a little shit anyway.

4) Drive the car to the Cherry St basin.

5) Tie a cement block to his nuts

6) Drop him in the water

You ever see the re-make of Cape Fear? I can see him trying to babble from behind the duct tape as he is going under, just like DeNiro in the final scene of that movie.

Yeah. And maybe if Jeff O'neill had been used properly this year. The guy can shoot and handle passes. He's not an in the corner type of player. He is a slot shooter. He always has been.

Leafs 5 Bruins 4....SO win

Good game to watch, probably bad for the coach and players.

I had predicted to friends that Sundin would take the momentum from the Olympics and carry the team forward. This is starting to happen.

To the bizarre.....Does Aki Berg have pictures of Quinn with a farm animal of some sort? otherwise how does this guy keep getting onto the ice. 2 MAJOR giveaways, plus a play where I swear to god he took himself into the boards and left the puck behind. Comes out from behind the net with the puck, up the left boards, then all of a sudden he is crashing into them, without any Bruin even nearby. Leaves the puck behind and the Bruins end up with a scoring chance.

My friend Tie gets a beautiful drop pass from Alex Steen, soft and on the tape, right in the shooting lane, and missed the one timer.....par for the course with hands 'o concrete Domi. Almost any other Leaf, Berg included would have laid enough wood on that pass to score, or at least get it on goal.

BUT, 7 of a possible 8 points in the last 4 games.....better than what was happening prior.

no doubt some players have to be hated every season in Toronto... it's a favourite past time here.

hey, give the kid a break. he get's boo-ed by everyone at ACC everytime he touches the puck... how's he to improve?

the same went for Antropov in 2003-4
and at other times Jonas Hoglund, Kaberle, Rob Pearson, O'Neil, Sundin, Joseph, Belfour, Allison... just a few of many that immediately came to mind.

then there is the loved ones...

Wellwood- who gives the puck away more than Berg!
Tucker- who, though could be a 40 goal scorer, takes stupid penalties late in the 3rd or at bad times.
Coliacovo- who isn't showing anywhere the presence that McCabe did at his age, and still is touted to be a great defenceman... whatever! he tries to hit in front of his 'home crowd' and ends up injuring himself out of stupidity... trying to do something that he doesn't have a body to do...
McCabe- who, though is having a career year, is probably the easiest leaf to beat one on one without him giving the 'can-opener' resulting in a tripping penalty.

so all are at fault... the loved ones and the hated ones... and in fact there is no perfect hockey player out there... but, i can say that other cities are a lot better at supporting their struggling team then we are in Toronto.

you got me all wrong.....

I am a major Leaf fan.... gold season tickets in my family since the 60's.....I get offered big money for them year after year and still go to at least 80% of all games.

If you are truly watching the games, you cannot overlook Bergs' deficiencies. I gave the guy many chances over his tenure here, but we are getting to critical mass with the errors.......did you see him put himself through the boards? I was there, it was baffling.......

I'd still rather see LEAF hockey than any other.....even when they lose. I think $17,000.00/yr for my tickets gives me the right to some sort of voice.......

Wellwood is a rookie, he needs a chance, just like Berg has had a chance for many years...

Tucker; I disagree totally.....his emotion gets the better of him from time to time, but there are still 29 other teams who would take him in a second

Coliaccovo; His bigger open ice hits have come on the road, only other big hit at home was Guerin, and he cleaned his clock with that mid ice check. Scott Stevens missed some, too.

McCabe; Think Paul Coffey.....it is an acknowledged fact that his play away from the puck needs work, but if you were an NHL GM, wouldnt you want a money-in-the-bank 60 point D-man who can run your PP? Just put a good responsible defensive guy with him

Kaberle proved last night that he is one of the better players on this team. He had an excellent game.
The end to end rush with the drop pass to Sundin for the goal, should be on most highlite reels today.

I agree... Aki Berg should not be on this team. I am sure some of the young kids from the Marlies would be much more effective.

Domi is only there because of upper level management.

Tucker plays with heart and is the type of player you hate to play against.

Unlike some people, I really like the way Allison has played this year. If they put him with someone who can score... he makes some of the nices plays and passes you will ever see.

Sundin is Sundin, McCabe is effective, at least on the PP.
Most of the young kids have played to expectation...

The rest of the team should not even be in the NHL.

ok... but PC led the league in +/-... he was an excellent defensive defenceman too!

sorry if i misunderstood ya, you might have misunderstood me too. my beef is with the fans. under these circumstances, they are wrong to boo the leafs players.

yes, Berg can be criticized... but a bigger problem for the leafs is battling their own fans. they all feel like crap to hear any one of their team members to get booed in their own arena. this can bring down alot of the players. and it is usually noticed if goaltending suffers because the goalie is aware of exactly what the crowd is cheering or booing- it gets into their head the most.

Berg should be traded... i agree with everyone their, but the leaf fans that attend the games need to grow up, too.

..the worst thing that ever hapened to the Leafs is they were bought by a corporation. The only upside is they had alot of cash. Now with the new rules that advantage has largely dissappeared.
Maybe if the fans boo luod enough they will sell the team to someone cares about winning the cup.
This team is headed is the wrong direction big time. Whe is the last time they were a real contender. When Gilmour was there ?

Too bad Allison had two beautiful giveaways last nite, one which led to a goal. I also notice he hangs onto the puck too long in the offensive zone & is led to giving it up or puck taken from him. And all that gliding, if only he could turn on the jets a few times, he could surprise & break right buy some opposing defencemen. Yeah he gets his share of goals, but they're mostly garbage pick-ups close by the net. Guess a goal is a goal.

If only Kaberle can play more games like he did last nite. Take the puck & carry the play up the ice, afterall he is a natural offensive defenceman. Being paired with McCabe forces him to stay back & cover up. Split him & McCabe, then you have two attacking defencesive pairs to improve the 5 on 5 play. Kaberle is more dangerous by not playing with McCabe. But keep them together for powerplay.

Back injury "cover-up" story means Belfour is toast in TO & Telquist gets majority of remaining games to prove himself. I'm glad Eddie's not making a big stink so far & sucking it in.

are you fucking nuts? Coliacovo "injuring himself out of stupidity"? Are you fucking nuts? oh i already asked that. He took a great run at a dickhead Sen and the wuss side stepped him and stuck out his foot sending Carlo into the boards. Carlo has been snakebitten with injuries and most likely will be his whole career. He does have huge potential but what you said is totally off. McCabe is JUST coming into form after stints with what? 4 or 5 teams now?
