he's a loss but the bigger loses are not having McCabe and Tucker... Both of whom are having career seasons...

The current team is just too old and too slow. I've said this from day 1 of training camp. It will be interesting to see what JFJ will do come the trading deadline. This team needs a shakeup in a major way!

OH fuck, why play Ottawa 2 games in a row???
This is gonna be so ugly, it'll almost be comical.

Seriously, can we just give up and let them have the 4 points now?

well the leafs played the bruins back-to-back twice this season already and have split both those series...

maybe the leafs have some hope 'cause the sens have almost the same 10 game record as the bruins. the sens are playing their worst hockey of the season right now.

Question?

After what Ottawa did to the Leafs this season, who here still believe that the Leafs still have Ottawa's number in the playoffs?

This is ridiculous. I watched the game and told my friend that the Sens would dominate the Leafs. I was wrong. They humiliated them.

My favourite team(Montreal) might not make it to the playoffs. Hence, now I'm rooting for the Sens to bring back the Stanley Cup to Canada. If the Sens can't do it, then GO FLAMES!!!

its all strategy  - the leafs are intentionally getting blown away by Ottawa during the regular season and then in the play-offs they will do to the Sens what they always do to them- knock them out of the play-offs!!

Not a chance in hell.

I wouldn't be so fast to make that comment!!! Leafs usually dig down deep in the play-offs
but, never get anywhere deep, right?

The only thing deep they'll find this year, I'm afraid to say, is deep shit.

Time to tinker with the rooster. Start with a new coach.

true - but they have come close a couple of times lately.
that is because no matter how poor of a team they have, no matter how many injured players they have, sundin can still get the boys playing their best... most years they overachieve, when they don't look like they should be able to do it on paper- they end up being a great struggle for stronger oppositions... think Ottawa, Philly, New Jersey, Boston etc.. to name a few recent playoff opponents.

in contrast to what alot of frustrated people say, sundin is a great leader.

It doesn't matter what others think as long as he's respected by his teammates, which I believe he is.

Leafs had their best game in a few weeks, but still lost 8-4 to Buffalo.

Over Achieving Consistently

I am a die-hard Leaf fan but if anyone remembers "none" of the so called hockey experts even had them picked to make the playoffs. In fact, I do not recall ever in recent history were they picked to make the finals.

They have overachieved every year and Pat Quinn must be given credit. This year they picked up "broken down" has beens...........and are still in the fight for the last play-off position. Eddie truly has never performed in the big games where they must win. I do not even think there is a trade market for him at his salary. Yes, he does win a few games during the year on his own but he has also often lost games for them with mental lapses like last night.

The new NHL requires speed..........and unfortunately they just do not have it other than a few players, thus constantly hooking and grabbing. The more ice time Wellwood gets the more it shows that he is not NHL tough and plays like a lone star in the OHL. One against the others team. A few fancy moves at the Blue Line does not score goals or put fear into the other teams defence.
