Is it just me or is Belfour starting to show his age. He seems to have trouble cutting down the angles.
not cutting down the angles is a big problem for an immobile goalie like Belfour. he relies heavily on his position to take away the shooters edge and when he isn't doing that, he is not going to be the eddie of great years past. he doesn't have great lower body reflexes ever since he injured his back. his upper body isn't fast but he has great hand-eye coordination. he will be retiring soon. too bad that this has to happen to all great players...
PHNINE i don't think there are any McCabe haters on terb, are there? one thing that is great about McCabe is that he does demand the puck. I remember in years past when the leafs D-men were completely forgot about during a power play... ahh yes... the mucker years... domi, corson, tucker, et al. trying to keep the puck down low and not getting hardly any shots on the PP... good thing those days are gone! remember them, the leafs were the crybabies of the NHL after every well deserved penalty! alot less penalties now, that's for sure.
now guess what... the leafs are starting to address that problem of being outshot every game... there still getting outshot alot, but the margins are narrowing. keep it up and the teams record will improve. this is largely contributed by McCabe, Kaberle, O'Neil, and Allisons change of play.
