Have to say Matthews was very noticeable. He needs to play like this in the playoffs.
Marner didn't notice him at all until the turnover with the goalie pulled.
They're going to need Makar if they play US in the Finals.
Unless the playoff version of Hellebuyck shows up I don't know how any team has a reasonable chance to beat what I have seen so far.

I can't help but think Brady will soon join his Brother in Florida.

I don't follow hockey guys but I think Booing National Anthem is really bad. We ended up losing to US. Check the headlines for Fox. They are laughing at us. We are Canadians right? We are better, humble then them. Not right guys.

I think that Canada is fully entitled to show an absolute lack of respect for the scum that is ruling the USA and idiots that voted them in. In addition to booing I would have liked the fans sitting in the seats with their hats on during the US anthem.

Based on current going-ons down there the USA is fully entitled to be amongst the least respected and most hated nations in the world.

I think the USA will let Sweden win, with the hope of not meeting canada in the finals.
Adin Hill will start for canada, on monday, against Finland.
Cannot see the USA losing this tournament.

I'm with you brother, when a country threatens our sovereignty, we have the freedom of expression.

Canada wins in regulation against Finland and Canada advances. No matter how Sweden does. the tie breaker is most regulation wins, then OT wins, then goal difference.

What a crazy start to the game last night. I have to admit that was an enjoyable watch, even if we lost. The intensity and the physicality reminded me of an NHL playoff game. I frigging hate Matthew Tkachuk its between him and Marchand for my most hated player in the league.
Now we need to beat Finland tomorrow to reach the final. We should be able to do that.

That's the 3 way tie breaker. By US beating Canada in regulation that nullifies the possibilty of a 3 way tie.
The two way tie breaker is head to head result and that goes to Canada for beating Sweden in OT.

If Canada beats both Sweden and Finland in OT they can still be out to Sweden with only 1 win and that win handed to them on a silver platter by the US. In effect Sweden could make the Finals not having beaten any other team in the round robin legitimately. The freebie win vs the US notwithstanding.

The States won't let Sweden win. Too much pride and bravado.

I was worried before the game when I heard Freiman reporting that many of the Swedish players told him the Swede most motivated to play against Canada was Nylander.
no need for CANADA to be worried about Nylander. he better keep his head up monday against the USA, or brady and matt or Charlie Mac will lay him out, Guaranteed.

Finland can also guarantee a Final by beating Canada in regulation.
Both have beaten Sweden in OT and lost to US in regulation.
This game should really be played after the US Sweden game.
Since there may be nothing on the line for both Sweden and US by the time they play their game.
Of course if Canada had beaten US the opposite would be true.
Perhaps the schedulers were anticipating just that.
If the Sweden US game was played first both games would be meaningful regardless of what happens in the first game.

Game theory:
Imagine if the US Sweden game was played first and Sweden beat US in regulation.
US is already in the Finals so nothing to play for.
Then both Finland and Canada would need a regulation win to advance.
An OT game and both are out regardless of who wins.
In this scenario what would the teams do if the clock is winding down in regulation in a tied game.
I'd say it's a game of chicken. One team has to pull their goalie. Whoever blinks first.

I agree 100%. Booing would have been ok if they showed Trump's face on a giant tv screen before the game started, but to boo the national anthem of the American players, many of whom play for Canadian NHL teams, only served to fire them up. It may also have been the cause for the "3 fights in 9 seconds" that started the game.

I imagine a lot of Trump supporters are very disappointed at what he (and Elon) have done since the inauguration. More crazy than what they expected!

If our team makes it to Boston for the final game expect the American fans to pay us back big time...

Not at all. I think Trump's doing a great job. Way better than if Kamala would have been elected president!!
Kamala would have been terrible. But Trump is a lunatic. His actions speak for themselves, so I have no need to give examples.

He has no regard or respect for the law, domestic or international, and the Constitution.

I'm a centrist. Not sure such a thing is very big in the U.S.

America is way too polarized.

As Lincoln (and Jesus apparently) said, "a house divided against itself cannot stand"...
