Why do you make assumptions without any proof? Even now after seeing what a POS the Trumputin administration is, your natural inclination is to shit on the democrats with assumptions and But facts pulled out of your ass.
Is case you didn't read, I have said it's inexcusable. Watz should be fired and arguably charged. One of the group members was in Moscow at the time and could easily have been hacked. It's actually larger than him.

My point is it's a continuance of the hubris of top level officials that they are above the law. If a notice was put out not to use it it clearly means it was used in this way before.

It doesn't in any way excuse them. It merely points out my continuing point that both parties need a house cleaning. No one gets a break.

If you don't want me to point this out, don't extole the virtues of the Democratic Party where none exist.

So it’s the both-sides-ism thing?

This is what happens in fascist regimes: no one is there because of their competence or merit. All of these officials are there solely due to their loyalty to Trump. They exist only to carry out the wishes of the Dear Leader…but the Dear Leader constantly changes his mind and gaslights them so everything turns into a cluster fuck.

As did the Biden admin. It has been established that this is the standard procedure they were trained on to use.
You know what happens next.

I ask for you to back this up with anything beyond "because Butler wants it to be true".

Damn right they were stupid. My question is, if they have the tech, and you need to show proof if an actual dedicated system in place, why not use it.

So what is this system you claim they have, and didn't the previous admin use it?

My answer is, they don't.
Wait.
You think there are no secure communications devices in the US government?

Apparently they don't. That's the point. Signal became a go to App.
And your proof of this " Signal became a go to App" is based on what?
(Or are you just talking about the Trump admin?)

Think about it. If there was a dedicated cabinet lvl system, that is the one they would use. But Signal was used by the previous admin as well. And we have no idea what they transmitted either on it.
That people used Signal at any time isn't proof it was what was used for classified communication.

It's just they at least were smart enough not to include reporters. Or the reporters never reported if they were.
So this is now "everyone in the previous administration was using Signal to avoid presidential record requirements" ?

Email was in use before this administration. Paper notepads and whiteboards were in use before this administration. Doesn't mean they can use them inappropriately for sensitive data.

You are reaching conclusions about the approved uses of Signal without evidence. To me, that document warns them on how to properly use Signal and avoid less secure alternatives if they really are using a messenger app.

There is no way that they don't have other policies that restrict what channels or storage they approve for different levels of information classification.

That is InfoSec 101, familiar in any org dealing with confidential data. That is where the DOD memo comes in and says channels like Signal are not approved for non-public information.

Just to make sure everyone has the document referenced.

That system records their coms so they used signal to avoid potential disclosure

Yup.
So... nothing supporting your position.

Unless your position is "other people used Signal, too"?
That would be silly, though, since it would mean you think "someone in the government ever used signal" is the important issue.
