For your assertion.......

And if they only slightly reduce transmission then what's with the wrath on the unvaccinated and the B.S. about this being a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
Cuz the unvaccinated are the people who will be overwhelming the hospitals, and especially the ICU's, which will force the government into imposing more restrictions and possibly lockdowns that will adversely affect all of us.

Bill Gates is a smart fella, but maybe not the guy to give the final word on the effect of vaccines on transmission, which is significant, based on, oh a few billion people getting it. But that is massively reduced with omicron, at leas for the 2 doses only

And those same unvaxxed will be the ones complaining the most about the restrictions/lockdowns.

Personally, I don’t care what Bill Gates says. He is not a doctor. Sorry but it is not something I would use in a debate. Not that I’m debating anything anymore. I’m just replying now to a few, like yourself, out if courtesy. I have said my piece and unlike others, I’m able to move on and past it.

And I am for the vaccine. Don’t mistake that. But I’m also not going to blame COVID on the unvaxxed. That is just stupid.

COVID is responsible for COVID. I have been double vaxxed and this new variant doesn’t care. I need another one and another after that. Which is fine but another VOC down the line or next variant even can be totally vaccine resistant, then what? Not that I’m asking you directly, but you get the point.

At 100% vaccinated, we would still be dealing with COVID. Time to address the actual virus and increase hospital resources and capacity, instead of blaming the unvaxxed for a virus they have no control over. In my humble opinion anyways, let others keep spewing their shit. On both sides of the coin. Anti vaxxed and anti anti-vaxxed. Y’all are so focused on each other, you are not looking at the actual virus and the science behind it. Just picking and choosing what you want to fight the other. I can’t be bothered with the stupidness of it all.

My assertion is this. If 80% of the population is vaccinated and a good majority of the remaining 20% have acquired natural immunity. And I do believe that natural immunity protects better than the vaccine immunity. Then we will be alright given that so far folks in South Africa are not seeing the dire circumstances that the modeling is giving as a worst possible case scenario.

From the beginning I have been saying that the healthiest individuals with the strongest immune systems will fare the best. So it would be prudent for everyone to get in the best shape of their life. It's also looking the individuals with the lowest bodyfat are most benefits from the vaccines while the more obese people are finding their protection waning sooner than predicted. Doug Ford by the way could have set an example here and knocked off about a hundred pounds or so. But instead looks like a bloated whale.

My feeling that this strain will be mild and will signal a turn for the better for all of us. No need to panic
How does one “acquire natural immunity”?

Covid has lead to a tragic delay of diagnosis and treatments.
The unvaxed are using a disproportionately way higher amount of healthcare resources thus they are more responsible for those suffering the realities of not having access.

I rely on myself and it's working out for me.
That's cool! Do you also work on your own car if you need new brakes or go into your electrical panel to change a circuit breaker or even just take your own blood and analyze the results? If you can do all this on your own, you are very very talented. Unfortunately, if you are not good at any of these tasks and attempt to do them yourself, um hmm it won't be a pretty sight for the person who finds you. Just saying.

Like smokers and obese people have been doing for years........
Some of you guys never cease to amaze me, and not in a good way.

How contagious is the fat virus compared to covid?

You know very well that unabated covid infects more and more and more people and the stress on our health system increases multifold. I believe that smoking is on the decrease in Canada.

Your "what ifs" are useless attempts at diversion. What they really do is expose your lack of understanding and logic.

Show me the recent Toronto stats to back up your statement.........
Again? The stats are published every day, and if you really cared you could find them in 30 seconds.

Every time it shows that the unvaxxed (about 15-20% of the population) make up at least 50% of cases, hospitalizations and deaths. And you already knew this.

As to what has been clogging up our medical system for decades it's a logical point.

He said the unvaxxed were putting a strain on ICU capacity.

So if you're going to say that then state the exact number of vaxxed ICU admissions and deaths vs the unvaxxed to support your argument.

And also distinguish between who is dying with covid and who is dying because of covid........Because that is a whole different kettle of fish.
