I can think of no less than two years more than 2 decades ago during
summer when it was so hot I had to shower at the fully cold setting. Over
the last few days I still had to mix in maybe 25--30% of hot water in the
shower. I also turned off air-conditioning for a short while like 6--7 hours last
Thursday and Friday at late night and I slept well. The heat wave
in the last few days didn't really last long enough to be out of ordinary.
I think it was the year 1988 Summer when there was a heat wave stretched
over two weeks. On a day near the end of the ordeal the headline of Toronto Sun
on the cover read something like 'Relief is on the way'.
