The NFL is an incredibly profitable and popular enterprise. But, if they don't remove politics out of the game, the fans will melt away and the sponsors will withdraw. There are already ramblings around the country and the dissatisfaction with the direction some players are taking is growing steadily. CK is unemployed because he is a gate poison. Period. The smart owners will remember who their customers are, the League, well, that remains to be seen. However, the on field politics will slay the golden goose.

How many of them were QB's? Man, you can be asinine. BTW other "protesting" QB's = 0
Position doesn't matter. IF anything you take a bigger risk as a linebacker or wide receiver as there are more of you in the league making you even more expendable.

Where did you get the "took a knee to protest the anthem?" My understanding it was over Charlotteville protests and killing.
My mistake. Sorry..... here's the quote

"The protests have followed the widely publicized (and criticized) decision last year by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick**to start kneeling during the national anthem to protest controversial police shootings of unarmed black men. Kaepernick has not been signed to a team this year and some of his supporters say he is being blackballed by the NFL, which the league denies."

..Linebackers Jamie Collins and Christian Kirksey, running backs Isaiah Crowell, Duke Johnson and Terrance Magee, safety Jabrill Peppers, tight end Seth DeValve, wide receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis and defensive back Calvin Pryor dropped to one knee in a circle. Rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer, offensive tackle Shon Coleman, punter Britton Colquitt, defensive back Jason McCourty and offensive lineman Marcus Martin stood and supported their teammates by putting their hands on their shoulders.

Here's a list of the 12.... one of them was a QB..... he didn't literally take a knee but he made his presence known.

Doesn't make a difference for me but maybe it does for onceaday

The only difference is tha CK is a recognizable "name" as he was the QB of a SB team.

Notice how many Brown's kneeled this week? Partly due to the fact Jim Brown had a chat with the team and read them the riot act. Also possibly due to the fact it is closer to final cuts.

The answer is zero. Funny the difference a week makes.

Funny the difference the truth makes.
Jim Brown never addressed the team regarding this matter.

I'm not sure what weight Jim Brown would carry anyway.

Which goes to prove that regardless of talent you'll be cut if you don't play along with what the owners want.

Its crazy how Colin is not yet signed?
This is insane. As a past athlete myself (College Basketball scholarship in the USA), Colin can play!

What is the right way to protest?

I'm not a BLACK person, but this guy Colin needs to be on a NFL team!!!!!!

The Buffalo BILLS are now down to 1 QB (rookie pick), the other two got injured.
Colin is 10000x better then that rookie bum. He hardly knows NFL playbook.

They need more BLACK head coaches in the NFL....

NFL like all leagues is about money. Owners think that the money they'll lose from "patriotic" fans is more than the money Kapernick will generate based on his ability. If any teams though he had superbowl winning talent then they'd sign him in a heartbeat.

Hmmm.... Those "patriotic" fans may talk a good game about tearing up their tickets. But is any self respecting heartland redneck really going to miss the NFL season?

The Bills or Dolphins or any other QB-less sadsack outfit will lose WAY more fans going 2-14 than they would in signing CK. This is on the owners.

"Last Monday, a dozen Browns players took a knee in prayer, with a white player joining in for the first time. Before the team’s game against Tampa Bay, nearly 30 players stood and joined hands for “The Star-Spangled Banner,” a group effort made at the suggestion of Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown, who met with players on Friday."

Could Kapernick do better?

Agree. And if one thinks that he was already a distraction, I imagine it would be even bigger now with all the publicity of his situation. It keeps increasing.

Aaron Rogers just made a statement supporting CK, stating that he is being blackballed and saying that Black players are justified in making race and equality an issue.
