Everyone looks at this situation from the perspective of owners vs. CK. That's a mistake. Both parties are involved, but one knows its customers and the other does not. Substitute NFL with NASCAR and everything becomes clear as day.

I'm not sure if somebody said this as I've not read the entire thread but I think he will be in the NFL by mid season as starting QBs get injured and the back ups are not doing the job.
There will be teams on the cusp of the playoffs that will take a chance on him rather than tank the last half of the season because they don't have a NFL caliber QB

One man's opinion, for whatever it's worth.

Bottom line, if CK could help a team enough or put butts in the seats then he would have a job. There's a lot more to being a QB in the NFL than stats and it's been clear for years the 49ers didn't think CK was a great leader which is the keystone to being a successful QB. Seems so far the rest of the league agrees.

If his biggest transgression was kneeling for the anthem he would be signed. His following antics proved he is not someone who can make wise decisions which is also essential to the QB position. CK has no one to blame but himself, his immaturity and poor decision making did not start with kneeling. He made it very easy for NFL teams to make the decision not to sign him. To me his only way to get another chance would be to light it up in the CFL and get his coaches to vouch that he has matured and become a real leader.

10 cleveland browns took a knee to protest the anthem.

The idea that colin would be a distraction is just an excuse to black list him.

As others have said it is the opinion of those who sign the cheques that matter most. They clearly have spoken.

Pretty sure most of the back up and practice qbs could not have taken a team to the playoffs like colin did.

Where did you get the "took a knee to protest the anthem?" My understanding it was over Charlotteville protests and killing.

It has nothing to do with him trying to fight racism. The vast majority of Americans oppose racism and believe it or not, that includes owners and upper management. It is HOW he went about it. He disrespected the flag and the anthem. Americans are super patriotic and what he did was a slap in the face to their patriotism. There is not much worse that he could have done.
Bull shit.

PS: That anthem is tainted. Written by a slave owner while holding slaves, taking about land of the free. Free who?

PPS: 100% admiration for Colin. Brave.

How many of them were QB's? Man, you can be asinine. BTW other "protesting" QB's = 0

Why would the position they play be relevant?

The issue is whether CK would be a distraction or embarrassment to a potential team. Hard to argue that if other Black players are also taking a knee during the anthem.

Yeah, ban "The Star-Spangled Banner" and ban "America the Beautiful". While we're at it, let's ban everything.

I can only think of one answer. A QB is like a pitcher in baseball, a goaltender on hockey or your number 1 star...a focal point of the team. These positions draw much attention.
Or it could just be that Oneaday makes up crazy shit to post on TERB?

Well if he really is as good as some of my fellow TERBites believe clearly he is a pickup for the CFL

He isn't going to hear the U.S. National Anthem, only the Canadian National Anthem, and if he actually has talent. . . .

At least in this thread we know the source of rocky's views.

As compared to many of his sports tales which are simply out to lunch for Unknown reasons.

Edit -- I meant to say sports takes instead of tales, but in this case it was a typo that works both ways.

Somewhat related to football. ESPN has re-assigned sportscaster Robert Lee from the University of Virginia game.

We have lots of threads on football because there are lots different topics. This is a totally different topic from CK.

I hope nobody responds to this post of yours unless to agree that it is another hijack attempt by you.

Maybe because he played football, all discussion of O.J. Simpson should be in this thread as well.
