Crazy stat line, Matthew Knies is the first Leaf to score 25 goals and have 150 hits or more in a season.
I love his play. He is our current day Bill Barber but with more physicality. I believe he is a restricted free agent. This is a guy that the Leafs need to secure for at least a 5 or 6 year contract. His offensive skills my not necessarily old up but for sure his physical dominance will not wain. Right now he is the prototypical power forward as per Barber, Ken Hodge, Wayne Cashman, Eric Stahl and Clarke Gillies.

Right now Laughton 24 looks like the former 24 Dewar.
Last game Tavares, Nylander, McMann played 3 minutes more than Matthews, Marner, Knies at even strength. The line of Laughton, Kampf, Lorentz played 2 plus minutes more than Robertson, Domi, Holmberg.

Dewar has been outperforming Laughton since the trade deadline.
Yes, but he had a grand total of zero goals in 31 games with the Leafs this season.
So Dewar got better and Laughton got worse.
Laughton, Kampf, and Lorentz should be the Leafs shutdown line in the playoffs as well as their PK guys along with Matthews, Marner.

Last year I kept saying the Leafs should change the coach and the captain. This year, I regret saying that.

I thought I saw the ghost of Borje Salming.

The Flyers have become too pathetic to hate.
Days of Barber Clarke Hextall Propp Poulin Kerr Howe McCrimmon are long gone.

Decent, but not better.
That's really for the playoffs to decide.
Good or bad anything is all about the playoffs.
Leafs changed their style of play for the playoffs.
It's dump and chase vs puck possession.
Regular season is just to tune the team to play this style.
Also to tune their special teams. They didn't go with a 5 forward PP right from the get go.
Berube's PP has been on fire. No more of this Rielly passing to left boards right boards and that's it.
Berube has reduced Keefe's odd man rushes against.
Everyone seems to be flowing except Laughton looks out of place.
These last 11 games are for him to tune himself.
Keefe's Devils has dropped so far back that Ottawa is now only 2 pts behind having played 2 less games to boot.
Leafs are 1st place in the Atlantic Division at this very moment.
Keefe's Leafs were never this close to leading the Atlantic Division in late March.
So I don't see how by regular season standards one can say Keefe was better.
Berube has yet to coach a Leaf playoff game so there's no way to give that comparison right now.

That's the way they've gotta do it in the playoffs.
Keep it tight, goalie has to be good, and win the special teams PP and PK.
LA is one of the best home teams in the league this season so this is a good showing for them.

It was nice to see an original 12 matchup.
