Sportsnet is reporting Klingberg is not going to play tonight. Keefe is saying it's health related.

Well, that is the ultimate way of protecting him

I love how the other William #85 rubs out Kadri in front of Woll after the whistle. If that kid keeps playing like that, he's likely to stay up in the big leagues.

Time to send Reaves to the AHL, minus 2 in about 4.5 minutes played, I can do that in my beer league, the Reaves experiment is over.

I like this Leafs goalie prospect Dennis Hildeby, at 6 foot 7 inches, he's called Hildabeast.

This is the best game I’ve seen Nylander play. He was dominant offensively and back checked as well as any great two way player should. Question remains, will he still play the same way after he gets his big contract ?

Zadarov would bring size and grit and perhaps Robertson plus ( ?) If the Flames are in a rebuild mode, they may take Klingberg off the Leafs if the Leafs would sweeten the pot enough ?

... or perhaps he's still developing and will still be even better.
Ever think about that?

If you were Nylander and you know your value and how good you are why would you sign for less than you think you're worth. Especially why would you sign for less than what Marner is getting and will be gettting. Leafs already shafted him in his current contract.

Don't know why you're so focused on this year. He's been getting better each and every year and he's performed in the playoffs.

It must be killing the Nylander haters that he is playing well that they're grasping at what ifs next year or a minus 2 game. Waiting for when his point streak ends so they can pounce.

-11 in 100 minutes of ice time (with 0 goals while your on the ice) is special stuff.
But I'm sure all there opponents have been intimidated by his presence. Certain media and certain fans stuck in the prior century making a big deal of how this "intimidating" signing would significantly improve things had their collective heads up their asses. The Leafs won't be able to afford to waste a lineup spot on him during a playoff game.

And this isn't fully a Leafs fan bash - I spent a weekend about a month ago with my cousin (a Habs fan) and all he wanted the Habs to do was go out an get another fighter or two thinking it would solve everything.

Vancouver is winners of their last 5 games. That's the longest current winning streak of any team.
Their plus 33 goal differential is best in the league. Better than Vegas second at plus 26
Their 26 goals against is second fewest only to Boston's 25.
Their 2 regulation losses is also second only to Boston's 1.
Leafs playing the second of a back to back and the first went to OT. Vancouver is rested.
Leafs will be playing Samsonov 4.11 GAA and .855 save percentage.
Leafs last 8 home games they've given up 4 or more goals in each.

Currently top 5 in points
1 pt behind 3rd place Panarin
2 pts behind 2nd place Kucherov
3 pts behind 1st place Pettersson

Of the top 25 points leaders
Kucherov +1
J. Hughes +1
Matthews +1
J Bratt +1
B. Point -7
Marner +1
Scheifele +1
Draisatl -2
Stuetzle +1

So the best players have all had -2 games.
Ron Francis, once a Leaf, is a career -18 so even he had a few -2 games.

3 time cup champion Kessel also received a lot of hate.
He should have won the Conn Smythe for one of them.
He was spectacular when he played for USA.
He was spectacular for the Leafs as well but of course he had haters.
He made Joffrey Lupul look like an All-Star
He made Bozak look like more than he was.
Top 100 all time points leaders.
He lined up and took on 6'8" 260 lb John Scott.
That alone warrants a statue on Legends Row.

He could skate like the wind, make plays, and has an elite shot.
Who else plays that way you ask? Well, players like Bedard and Caufield play that way.

I've never heard of No.85 before, his name is William Lagesson. If he can protect his goalie which the Loafs are pathetic at, then he's definitely a keeper.

I don't think it's about intimidation anymore, but rather it's about protection. You need someone on your team tough enough to stand up for your skilled/ smaller players. The other team has to know they can't get away with certain shit against your better players. I liked the Reaves signing.
