Lol šŸ˜† 🤣 I don't think they be any major changes at all, it all talks.
Shanahan still not fired lol
Shanny JT and Eminem all have one year left on their contracts. I'd say just let it run it's course and a clean slate for 25/26. Why would they trade Marner in a contract year. They won't get full value for him and might have to retain money. Marner much like Nylander will have a career year so why not embrace it and let another team overpay for him in free agency. JT is off the books soon too so just best to have the cap space for when it goes up.

It's no secret that Shanahan has the final say on all the trades and contract signings. Dubas wanted more autonomy from Shanahan, which got him booted out of Toronto. Shannahan has one more year left on his contract, if the Leafs don't go on a deep run, he's gone.

The reason that Shanahan hasn’t been fired, I think, is because Pelley wants him and Treliving to do the dirty job of trying to get Marner and his 11 mil salary off the roster. The Impression I get from the press conference is that ownership has decided to trash the ā€œcore fourā€ blue print which I had said from day one that it was flawed.

No team would want Tavares unless the Leafs eat a big chunk off his salary which would defeat the purpose. Marner on the other can give a team like Chicago a much better chance to make the playoffs so trading him will bring a meaningful return. It could get ugly if Marner plays hard ball. It would be unfair to the new guy(s) replacing Shanahan having to cleanup the mess.

Even all else fail, Shanahan, Marner and Tavares will all be gone this time next year, and that may be a much better time to hire a Shanahan replacement.

Yup! European hockey suits them perfectly. They can blow each other kisses in the corners when they play each other

The Leafs outplayed Boston, Boston won because of one mental lapse by the Leafs. Now Boston is getting clawed alive by the Panthers (pun intended). Perhaps the Leafs shouldn't face the Panthers in the second round. Sam Bennet would've taken out Matthews.

He’s awesome
He won in the bush leagues. But not the Cup that most big-leaguers are measured by.

Fired from HNIC for disparaging immigrants. Knuckle dragger and bigotted. People called for his ouster long before it actually happened because society had passed him by. He was an anachronism.

Yeah, I can understand why he appealed to you.

Cherry loved Salming...So there's that.
Granted. It was not hyperbole when I called him a warrior. Who couldn't appreciate him?

Oh yeah. Woozy, who just tried to disparage Borje.

But, in general, Cherry bashed the Euros. Where would the league be now without them? Talent is already pretty thin.

Back to the point, after a long grinding season, anybody who then goes to the Worlds to play for their country shows dedication which should be recognized as such and praised for it.

Cherry saw the Europeans as soft and well you know he was right in that time...He was a you have to beat em in the alley type of guy. Thats the way it was in the minors where he spent all but 1 game of his career.

Everybody outlives his usefulness and has an expiry date in his profession. Cherry lasted longer than most.

Much respect to John Tavares for his playing for his country after a so so personal season where he was subjected to much criticism
