He's at 299 goals, he has 5 seasons to get to 500 goals, no Leaf has 500 career goals. But of course we trade that stat for a cup.

He will easily become the greatest Leaf of all time statistically. But can be lead us to the cup. If he does he will have a statue outside the arena one day.
Ducks were 32nd in the league defensively and they're only bringing back 1 of their 6 starting defensemen from last year.
They let 5 go and the Leafs have picked up two of them, so they'll have more of the Ducks blue line from last year than the Ducks do.
They were at the "Low Goals For, High Goals Against" end of the spectrum.
But if the Leafs can sub Benoit in for someone more expensive that'll help with their cap situation.
I like it. He dished out over 200 hits last season. The Leafs should be a much tougher team to play against in 2023-24.
I know nothing about this guy, but if he's making $750K/year then he must be mediocre at best.

Remember him well as a solid defenceman for a young and dynamic Minnesota North Stars team in the late 70's/ early 80's. Sad.
Brad Maxwell went to the Stanley Cup Final with the North Stars in 1981, solid defenseman. He was never going to achieve that with the Larfs, not in a billion years.
