Leafs add Simon Benoit to their D for size, formerly of the Anaheim Ducks. $775K USD for one season.
Ducks were 32nd in the league defensively and they're only bringing back 1 of their 6 starting defensemen from last year.
They let 5 go and the Leafs have picked up two of them, so they'll have more of the Ducks blue line from last year than the Ducks do.
They were at the "Low Goals For, High Goals Against" end of the spectrum.
But if the Leafs can sub Benoit in for someone more expensive that'll help with their cap situation.

I like it. He dished out over 200 hits last season. The Leafs should be a much tougher team to play against in 2023-24.
