Two things for sure. First, there has been a lot more discussion about supporting mental health. Early intervention might have helped a lot of these loonies. Second, the threat of this kind of "legitimate political discourse" is being taken a lot more seriously. Look at how Buffalo and FE, ON handled threats against Peace Bridge traffic.
