I've had delivery drivers say to me "there's only 4 dollars here" on a order of like 30 bucks. It's happened several times. The last guy that did that I told him to give me the tip back and we started arguing at my door. I said "your not fucking waiter buddy! There's no 15% general rule here. Delivery guys get what they get". After our little verbal battle I let him keep the tip as he walked away with a knot his face. I called Swisschalet and blasted them. I said "I don't ever want to hear your delivery drives bitch again about me giving them a tip again. Send a memo to your stores... do whatever you gotta do, but this is the second time this has happened. I told her it ruined my appetite due the fact I was all riled up after fighting with the guy at my door. I explained to her I used to be a restaurant manager and any of my waiters every pulled a stunt like that they would suspended if not fired and they had way more a right to as they waiters!!

Then I had a similar situation with a guy at Mama's Pizza. Delivery time was supposed to be 45 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes go by and I call to cancel cause I'm like this is crazy. They tell me the guy left 10 minutes ago and should be there any minute so I agree not to cancel my order. Finally guys shows up and is like "there's only 4.50 here....

I let him have it fucking double barrels. The balls on this guy....shows up with a pizza almost an hour and half after I order and complains about almost a 5 buck tip....

After I gave it to the driver called the owner let him have it as well.

Last week I was in the process of ordering a pizza online . Ready to pay and see that with tax , pizza place delivery fee of 3.50 and tip for the driver 4-5 bucks was going to make the 20$ meh franchise pizza place special come out to be like 32.00. Really didn’t feel like cooking but whipped up a nice plate of pasta with homemade meat sauce instead.

'bring out your inner black girl'. What exactly does THAT mean? Nothing good I'll bet. Negative stereotype.
So you are say that a black girl has no redeeming qualities? Nothing good to emulate? Hopefully this is just a logic problem.

For delivery I just tip 10% and leave it at that. I sometimes think about not tipping (because of all the excessive fees added on) but the drivers usually only get what I tipped. The only time I tip extra is if somehow they went the extra mile (one time I ordered to the wrong address and the guy drove 20 minutes) or if it was a very small purchase.

Never tip for takeout.

I think the cook(s) (and busboys) get or should get a portion of the server's tips.
Worked the kitchen in a couple restaurants way back. One place kitchen staff got no tips but free staff meal, pretty much any on the menu without taking advantage. Wait staff tipped out to the bussers that helped them in their section. They got 1/2 price food.
The other place kitchen staff got I think 5% of the all tips collected and split and 1/2 price food. It was a better team environment with all staff working together to avoid screw ups $ .

Regarding, donations at retailers. The fact is that when a retailer makes a donation to a charity from what donations it’s customers left, the retailer gets tax credit for it, hence I stopped giving retailers donations many moons ago.
Some retailers (book stores) donate their products to charities using your donations. Usually at full price.

So speaking of which, I decided to get my car cleaned/detailed. I've had it 3 years now and despite keeping it in excellent condition, after 3 years it will get a bit dirty. I heard great things about Panda Car Detailing. They come to your house and do a great job but I had a few questions so decided to give them a call. Near the end of the call I just happened to say "so do people normally tip these guys?" and service reps says "ahhhh ya sometimes people give like $50.00 or $100.00 bucks". I say to him "so that's normal??? 50 to 100"? then he says "well it's whatever you want". I repeat "what is the NORMAL?" Answer now changes to "I'm not sure"...lol.

Should I tip these guys?

The one that gets my blood boiling is at a Jays game when I get out of my seat to stand inline for either food or drinks and have to wait sometimes 5-10 mins and then they ask for a tip on a $16.00 beer WTF I came and got it , you didn't bring it to me.

Fuck, the LCBO is another place that pisses me off to. They ask for a donation to some organization. If I am feeling particular good that day, I would give the buck or two they ask for. Then, when I go back a few days later, they ask again. You refuse cuz you gave it previous day and you get an attitude like you're lying about it.

Alcohol is an indulgence and the LCBO plays on that to donate. They feel that if you can afford to drink, then you can donate. Almost like a guilt tax or something because you enjoy a bottle of wine.

I stopped going to LCBO for a few reasons and that was one of them. Hooked up with a private wine and spirits dealer and only go that route now. Same or even less money spent.

Over here, across the border in the US..literally every store you go into asks for some kind of donation. They are all fine causes I would say...but it gets really old. Its everywhere Drive-Through and Counter service restaurants, Big box stores*, Grocery Stores*, Drug stores*....you name it! Either it comes up on the digital screen when you swipe your credit card, or the cashier will ask you when you pay with cash.

Also...the *, plus gas stations, are all places we can buy beer, way cheaper than your beer stores. So I guess we have that going for us.

It is the America way. Every type of service expects a tip. Lcbo employees are instructed to ask for donations. They have no choice. And isn't nice to know that Lcbo has raised their prices by 10% but not giving raises to there employees for years. Thank you Doug Ford, you ,Asshole.
