The tipping culture as you call it is symptomatic of a bigger problem in society and is a worthy discussion IMHO!

I work as a Cook in a restaurant (think more glorified fast food place) and despite being paid $15 an hour I'm still unable to afford a single meal per an hour of work despite making dozens of those orders an hour all ranging from $15 to much higher. Understandably there are a lot of costs such as paying all working employees $15/h and the costs of running electricity, water, gas etc but still expenses should be lowered so price of food can be lowered and then just maybe....just maybe tipping culture can make sense. But otherwise, I'm not making minimum wage to waste all my money tipping other minimum wage people.

Yes, almost every cook at a restaurant is allowed at least one free meal (I have worked in restaurants before). However, they are not allowed the premium dishes (e.g. steak, lobster, etc.). Usually the chef will cook a basic meal for the entire staff for lunch. Fast food places may offer a steep discount (e.g McDonald's) for workers on their break. Some places such as pizza joints may allow employees to take home pizzas that were never picked up or were made wrong.

I never really said it was, it's just one of those of many many misheard lyrics out there. That was your comment.

As for the other part, I was just noting the irony indirectly that the Karen which is defined as a white chick doing stuff, is often stereotyped black chick behavior. Which it is. It is not racist to point out that something is a stereotype... or is it only racist if white people do it.

Also if pointing out that stereotype is racist, and you don't call me a racist for using terms like Karen and Ken... well well. Because those terms are also stereotypes linked to racial identity.

Also I never ever said I did not want to be labeled a Harlem Black Girl. I said I am not one. I am also not an attractive man, but saying so doesn't mean I don't want to be. I am not swole, but I'd like to be. Fuck if I didn't say that you would be screeching about cultural appropriation.

I've had delivery drivers say to me "there's only 4 dollars here" on a order of like 30 bucks. It's happened several times. The last guy that did that I told him to give me the tip back and we started arguing at my door. I said "your not fucking waiter buddy! There's no 15% general rule here. Delivery guys get what they get". After our little verbal battle I let him keep the tip as he walked away with a knot his face. I called Swisschalet and blasted them. I said "I don't ever want to hear your delivery drives bitch again about me giving them a tip again. Send a memo to your stores... do whatever you gotta do, but this is the second time this has happened. I told her it ruined my appetite due the fact I was all riled up after fighting with the guy at my door. I explained to her I used to be a restaurant manager and any of my waiters every pulled a stunt like that they would suspended if not fired and they had way more a right to as they waiters!!


Then I had a similar situation with a guy at Mama's Pizza. Delivery time was supposed to be 45 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes go by and I call to cancel cause I'm like this is crazy. They tell me the guy left 10 minutes ago and should be there any minute so I agree not to cancel my order. Finally guys shows up and I tip him in change I lying around the house and he's like "there's only 4.50 here....

I let him have it fucking double barrels. The balls on this guy....shows up with a pizza almost an hour and half after I order and complains about almost a 5 buck tip....

After I gave it to the driver called the owner let him have it as well.

This is why I never tip on deliveries. On instacart I do because otherwise they dont pick up the order. But any fuckup and I cancel or reduce the tip depending. Lol.

Just reading about these entitled little pricks makes my blood boil. $4 on a 30 dollar order is fine. It's not generous, but it's a decent tip considering some people don't even tip. Reminds me of the fucking cunt who was furious over an $8 tip and took the order away.

The problem with home delivery is that the driver doesn't wait for you to come to the door. One time I got to the door just in time to see the delivery truck pull away up the street so I gave chase on foot in Winter. Fortunately, one of my neighbours was in his car and chased down the delivery truck.
