man this playoff race is so tight. was it this tight last year? i don't remember heh
it was tight for the leafs last year, but not for 6 teams within a 3 point spread with only 5 games remaining... so no. not as tight last year.

Gill, Kabina and Kaberle had pretty good games as of late, eh?

1 point is better than no points.

Sat: vs Pit
Sun: @NYR
Tue: vs Phi
Thur: @NYI
Sat: vs Mtl

If they can win the games against the teams ahead of them and avoid OT, that would be huge.

On a side note, they are 0-3 vs the Penguins this year...at least I get to go to this game!

i've questioned this before, to no avail... it supposedly cuts travel time and costs... yeah, right? wouldn't Detroit be in the East, then (North East Division)?

my guess is that Americans can't detect a rivalry unless it is spelled out to them like this D-I-V-I-S-I-O-N...

you gotta admit, the format kinda replicates those found in other POPULAR American sports leagues.

Friday night now, and it really does look like the hockey gods are dividing the seas so the Leafs can roll right into the playoffs...

or, could it be that anything below Tampa Bay in Standings really stink?

either way, the leafs probably now have their best opportunity to beat the Pens of all season, seeing that the Pens are a tired squad right now (5games in 7days) and come off of barely beating both the Bruins and the Capitals, 2 teams bombing the last run of the season.

that's not to say the victory will come easily. but, it probably is there best opportunity to get there very much needed point or two from the Penguins.

man that was nerve wracking, especially while you're there!

Ponikoravsky had a chance to dump the puck in the corner with like 22 seconds left, instead he tried a half assed pass to Sundin which failed miserably and Pittsburgh proceeded to score.

The fan who collapsed in the stands probably saved the game for them. Literally took one for the team!

Hopes still alive, a win tomorrow would be HUGE

The only losses tonight were the teams behind them. No help.

They have to immediately focus on the next game.

well that was quite pitiful.

Cant use tired as an excuse because the Rangers also played last night...McCabe was an awesome -5 but anyhow...

If the Leafs win out there last 3 games in regulation they'd make it.

The tease may very well go to the last game when Toronto and Montreal decide who will go to playoffs via shootout. It may be the mother and father of all teases!!! LOL!!!

i remember not liking, actually Dispising this move and of course, I got hammered here on terb for voicing my strong contrarian opinion on it:
Klee for Suglobov, then picking up Luke Richardson...
A-ROD said:
Richardson is a better defenseman than Klee and
Suglobov who is closer to the NHL than a fifth round pick.
today:

-where is Suglobov? and how many goals was he good for? wait a minute, where were those goals scored? the AHL? how many? atleast its a plural number...

-Luke Richardson didn't work out and was let go... now picked up by Tampa Bay to fill in for injury woes... played as a 6th or 7th d-man... usually sits on the bench averaging 4 minutes per game... zero fighting majors in the last 3 years! so i guess, he's not sitting on the bench waiting for the rough stuff...

-Ken Klee- averages 23 minutes of ice time per game (#2 D), is a +15 higher than any Leafs defenceman!, with 19 points and is an ironman of a D-man playing in 77 games this season.

i'd call this a major fuck up.

Well, I have been a die hard leaf fan since about '65 but tonight? I didn't even cheer when they scored a goal. If they have a hard time beating the poorest team in the league, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.....

except that the Flyers have been putting up a good fight at the end of the season... check their last few opponents. It hasn't been easy for any team to play them in March.

Fucking Raycroft! What a sieve.

Even if they do make the playoffs, I have no confidence in this guy.

Last 2 goals he was screened, I wouldnt pin this loss on him.

It would be nice if Sundin could score a goal one of these days.

If they win in regulation Saturday, and have the Isles drop points vs Devils or Flyers, they are in.
