hey... it look like real chemistry brewing on the leafs bench. like guyroch said, nothing to complain about. the flyers actually brought a good game, too! it was no guarantee win...

if we could only hire the voice of the penguins:
"He just put Niittymaki out on 95 goin' to the airport" - Mike Lange

BTW- anyone hear from Rayfinkel ever since he told us he lost a ton of $$$? i think he'd be delighted in the performance of the leafs as of late.

Although it took Toronto the third period to put the Flyers away, at any given game, any team would gladly take on a team who has trouble scoring. Thus is the state of affairs with the Flyers.

you are right doc, but, did you catch the game...? philly had their offence going, way outnumbering the leafs scoring chances. just a whole lotta bad luck named Raycroft.

Well, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going for the Flyers. Raycroft has been stellar as of late for the Leafs. :) The question is how long he can play at this level.

Skidor- is this what you were trying to do?

only problem- it was too big for Sheik's liking... guess I won't be stuffing it down my pants anymore.

Without Kubina, Sundin and a injuried Raycroft the Leafs still managed to beat
the Bruins ..... Its funny thing ... When teams are on Winning streaks these
are they games they win ...
Or it shows you how bad the Bruins are.

unfortunately for Raycroft... you'll get your wish to see Aubin play more now. frankly Aubin didn't impress me tonight and didn't impress me much against New Jersey.

although they are claiming the injury is so minor it will only mean 1 game for Raycroft, groins are touchy... if he is to have one pulled groin this season, it never means just one... therefore, guyroch- you'll get your wish to see Aubin play more games this season.

Aubin will still get only one start..

...Aubin was expected to play Saturday anways against the Habs...and then the Leafs dont play until deep into next week....I figure Raycroft will be set to go by then...I'd like to see Aubin get 25 games or so....not sure if that will happen without injuries...

Pogge developes into a decent goalie in a couple of years.
sure hope so. though he's had a few great games - he's Mr. inconsistency for the Marlies.

on the other hand, Rask in Finland is #1 in save %age, #3 in GAA on a mediocre team right now. they might of traded the wrong goalie away.

Listen to that suck-wad Sheldon Souray's quote about last night's game, from NHL.com:

Montreal defenseman Sheldon Souray said they were outplayed "from A to Z."
"They just outworked us. We started losing battles to guys like Matt Stajan, guys that you wouldn't expect that would out-compete us, but they did," Souray said.

Deal with it asshole!

JFJ didn't have to trade Rask or Pogge to get Raycroft - Boston was not going to make an offer to Raycroft, so he becomes an UFA who wants to play here, so why trade away an asset when Raycroft wants to play here anyhow?

you are right about JFJ. one thing he should be credited for is that he is slowly starting to make some of the 'right' moves as GM...

i'm tired of kicking JF for now... the team looks good, although they've played the most games so far out of the entire league, i think i'll enjoy the 'positives' of the game... i get to stressed if i have to clench my teeth every night.

I will only start bashing the Leafs when Sundin and Raycroft are back and we still continue to lose. Until then, I will refrain from the negativity. At least the Sens still suck. :D

Continue to Lose???....unles you are the Sabres(and even they have lsot a couple of games), teams are going to lose games....the Leafs are doing to this point better than expected...and the constant comparison to last yrs record(remember, last yrs team was going fairly well until the late Jan/ Feb debacle) is getting tired. If the Leafs play this well for the rest of the season, they would be a 4 or 5 seed in the conference...not bad for a team that isn't expected to be in postseason...

Oh....and the Sens sucked again..3-2 loss to Jersey....nice....

that's a good sign.

just remember, the Oilers didn't have much of a team last season.

I could be wrong but thats not new ...

Well the knock on Quinn in the later days was he relied on the "old guys" , maurice was supposed to be a supporter of the youth movement.. so if the results are the same thats a good thing , the youngin's are (supposedly) on the way up .. the veterans ... (many) were on the way out .

so in theory .. no where to go but up...

Any change that produces the slight bit of improvement is viewed as sheer genius. If Quinn didn't get fired, the poor man would probably have had a heart attack. The stess alone of being a coach can kill you.
