Leafs aren't expected to make the playoffs.

the Sens are expected to win the Stanley Cup.

there is nothing out of the ordinary here... no reason to get all rusty and break down, Ford!

Loss of energy

...Leafs didn't have the energy level, and work ethic of 1st few games...Raycroft did look below average, didn't see the whole game....it is a Leafs tradition to have top level goaltending...something the Sens would know nothing about...it's been a while since they've seen one in their uniform.. Hey, they kicked Ottawa's ass on their ice...Ottawa kicked the Leafs ass at the ACC.....maybe the Leafs can do it again @ Ottawa??...who knows... I can assure you this...that Ottawa team is going no where this year...

Christ. Just imagine if the Ottawa franchise was never around to meet the Leafs in the playoffs (beginning in 2000). If that's the case, the Leafs have won one (1) playoff rd against a team that isn't named the Ottawa Senators (NYI, 2002) - now that' s pathetic!!

......everybody needs their bitch...and when it comes to crunch time....when the games really count...the Ottawa Senators have been the Leafs bitch...and until they can get around that..and the fact they are the little engine that can't....constantly underachieving...they will continue to get the abuse they deserve....AND LIKE IT !!!! lmao

Oct. 26... Leafs in Ottawa.

another blowout.... 7, yes 7-2 for Ottawa. a consecutive blowout if you will.

the leafs look worse than last season. However, they do have more skill, better defense, better goaltending, more speed, and more youth.

let's face it... Paul Maurice stinks! i'm getting sick of his excuses. his 4th line is garbage... he has too many AHLers on the roster--- and yet people are calling to call up Brown, Moro??? whatever...

Paul Maurice should be able to do it with what he's got. Even w/o Kubina the leafs ice a better team now than they did all season last year.

PM- blame cardio? ottawa's rush off the boards? the atmospheric pressure? the ice conditions? my fav is they play Ottawa too many times? lol... i'm sick of Paul Maurice already...

and he didn't actually get the Marlies far into the playoffs last season... and yet, they were more than quite capable of doing so.

sorry- i meant 'far' in the playoffs.

at the time JFJr said that Paul Maurice's playoff performance would determine if he gets promoted to the 'big bench'...

maybe JFJr forgot that, buy I didn't...

I agree PM has appearded good with the media... he hasn't been very good at all in the past. i've paid attention to him since back in his detroit compuware days... i'm still not sold on him.

the bus is empty tonight... that's for sure. Leafs win over Montreal via shootout- thanks to spectacular performance by Aubin and a nifty goal by Wellwood.

Holly crap we won but come on another 4 goals ... I know 2 points is 2 points but I say letting 4 goals again means you either have a goaltending issue which I think we do or Team defense sucks ... I am not saying our defenseman I am saying overall team defense .
I think it's obvious to anyone watching the leafs that the defencemen are less mobile than parking meters and team defence as a whole is crap. I remember a point in the third where i turned to the guy next to me in the bar and said "you watch, they're gonna fucking blow this lead and lose in a shootout". I was thankfully not completely right, but still blowing a 4-2 lead that should have been in the bag and then pulling it out in the SO is nothing to be proud of.

My other point, is i'm wondering if the leafs know of any other way to play but to get across the blueline and blast a slapshot wide of the net. They get lots of shots, but so many of them are lame low percentage ones, not genuine scoring chances.

guyroch's right... the leafs have 2nd worst Goals Against in all of the NHL... next to Phoenix. impossible to get to the playoffs keeping that up.

Aubin, can be spectacular at times... his scouting report represents a great varying degree of inconsistency if played many games consistently... therefore, he's been typecasted as a credible backup.

however, On December 30, 2004, while playing for the St. John's Maple Leafs, Jean-Sebastien stopped an amazing sixty-three shots on goal in a home contest against the Syracuse Chiefs. Aubin's Leafs won by a 5-3 margin. being able to put on a performance like this deserves him much, the chance to compete for a #1 position again.

however, before he left pittsburgh, he has caused absolute chaos in the dressing room. he has scrapped his own teammate in the 'Q', had pucks fired at him in practice with an intent on taking his head off, also. what's with him that would piss off teammates so bad that they would want to injure their #1 tender? obviously a bit of immaturity showing in the 'Q'... but, he has started up shit in the ECHL, the AHL, and at NHL levels within his own dressing room. i'd give him the chance to play, but, i'd definitely proceed with caution.

your thinking is right, guyroch: if the leafs wish to win on most nights, they need a tender that can consistently stand on his head... sadly, though... that just isn't the way a hockey team should be built.

Okay if you can play goal it doesn't matter if you can stir some shit .... ..
yes. Patrick Roy quickly comes to mind. Dominik Hasek, too.

the danger signs are certainly present, but right now the east can be taken by any team. 3pts. seperates 3rd place from 13th right now! i'd follow the 10game streak trend from now on to determine who's hot or not... it's going to be fairly close for all the teams from 3rd down for the whole season, making every possible win critical
