Very interesting read.
Although I do not think the transfer market is the only reason they wanted to create that super league.
I believe their reason were:
1. Own the league. Like Formula 1. That would have give them the right to negotiate broadcasting right and all derived product. Control the money channel to make it flow to them and only them.
2. Avoid relegation and qualification. It's a real issue for these big club owners that they can actually be beaten and knock out by poorer team.
3. Control the player's market. And make sure the best player's do not play anywhere else but their league. Eventually probably control and benefit from their images (buy and control their rights).
They wanted the butter and the money from the butter. Greedy fucking billionaires who think they are above you. In other words they are rich pieces of shit.

I am surprised that Everton even has fans. Fact.Yes and even possibly Everton fans.
Actually Everton have had the most Season in the top flight of the English Football. They are only second to Arsenal to have the most consecutive seasons in the top flight.
Fans are fans and will always be loyal no matter what, and just a very tiny number will jump ship.
Milan was lukewarm about the SuperLeague. Paul Singer, ever the Machiavellian, stayed silent while the Glazers, Andrea Agnelli and Florentino Perez stepped in it.
Andrea is not stepping down, no surprise. He probably got a call from his cousin telling him not to be a Big Dummy. Jon Elkann is the brains of Exor, after Sergio Marchionne passed away he ran Fiat-Chrysler himself. He's taking a big gamble though but he kept Ferrari.

These 12 clubs need to be punished by UEFA and their federations, otherwise they will just keep pulling this stunt every few years. The closed shop North American sports league style is never going to fly with fans and media in Europe, it is a completely different sports culture there. Look at the Premier League, Leicester City wins the title a few years back and now West Ham are vying for a Champions League spot, under the system that Perez and the Glazers want this would never happen, absolutely ridiculous selfishness.

Why was it so important for Andrea Agnelli to be onboard? I didn't know that he was the Chairman of the the European Football Clubs Association. He metaphorically slapped himself in the nads.
Bayern and PSG were against a Super League. They have sweetheart deals within their domestic leagues that stunts the development of a major rival. It's not the same in Spain and Italy.

The Germans were out because of the ownership rules in Germany. I dunno about PSG
I think the planners were idiots. They have created the problem of the sky high salaries, Real Madrid just signed Alaba from Bayern with a sign-on-fee of 25 million euros, and a weekly salary of 0.5 million euros.
Now they say they cannot live with the high salaries and want to put a cap on. Fuck them.

I don't believe that RB Leipzig is the most hated club in Germany...Bayern propaganda.
