The 20/21 Premier League season will start on September 12. So 7-week break. Wonder if fans will be allowed and if so how many?
They are talking over here of crowds being allowed back possibly in October. The numbers will be governed by individual stadium risk assessments.

Something like 33% is being talked about but clubs are looking for something more of around 50%.

Who are your predictions to be relegated?

Relegation this season or next?

This season Norwich are gone, Villa seem to be showing some fight, Bournemouth and Watford are both totally void of that intangible.....confidence. So my $ is on Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford. Why Watford fired the coach with 2 games to go is beyond belief!

As for relegation next season, way too early to make any predictions, 2 of the 3 promoted clubs typically struggle big time. But, as per usual, my beloved Burnley will be one of the favourites to drop a division.

This Season, yes, Norwich are already relegated. If Bournemouth can pull off a win against a very unpredictable Everton side, then they could stay up. Yes, Watford management were absolutely wrong to fire a manager who did a good job steering them from the bottom of the Premier Division to out of the relegation zone. I think the management disagreed with the team selections. Arsenal will very likely beat them in their final home game at the Etihad Stadium. Aston Villa on paper look like they have the most favourable opposition with West Ham. However, West Ham now seem to be a well organized team and should have beaten Man United in their last away game of the season. So obviously Aston Villa can only hope to get a point to keep them up. I fancy West Ham to win that fixture and Bournemouth somehow staying up.

Next season's prediction too early to call especially as all the promotion sides have not been established. Just Leeds and West Bromwich have been promoted and the playoffs decide the eventual winner from those that qualified for the playoff.

Too bad Bournemouth are gone, that fixture is usually worth 6 points for my team ;)

Strong rumours over the pond Dean Smith is out the door at Villa, to be replaced by former Benfica coach Bruno Lage.

You called it. Even though Bournemouth won at Everton, Aston Villa got the point they needed from West Ham to stay up. Villa scored on keeper’s error in the 82nd minute but West Ham responded 46 seconds later with a gifted goal from Villa’s Pepe Reina, who used to be a stalwart at Liverpool, to leave the match on a knife’s edge until the end. Villa will reignite their Midlands rivalry next season with their newly promoted neighbours West Bromwich Albion.

Congratulations to the EPL for staging a flawless return without a single hiccup. Well done to all involved.

On February 1 after Bruno Fernandes’ first game, Man Utd was 14 points behind Leicester, who seemed to be firmly ensconced in 3rd place. But with Fernandes leading the charge, Man Utd overhauled Leicester to occupy 3rd place, applying the coup de grace today with a winner take all 2-0 victory at Leicester and a place in next season’s Champions League while relegating Leicester to 5th place. Since his introduction, Fernandes was involved in 15 goals, more than any player in the EPL. To all the doubting Thomases, here is proof that one player can indeed be the difference to the fortunes of a club.

Liverpool will repeat as Champions next season with Man City second again and Man Utd 3rd. The boys from Anfield apply too much heat to be stopped.

Cheers
It was the keeper's errors at both end that led to this 1-1 tie between West Ham and Aston Villa. While Villa laboured to try and get something, I think that West Ham were a bit laid back once they knew that they were safe from relegation.

But next season will be a different matter all together. I am sure that Man City will be very busy in the transfer market. Doubt if Liverpool will once again win by such a hefty margin. Yes, they will be favourites, but do not rule out a team like Man City with Guardiola at the helm.

Man City backed by Bahrain has unlimited funds. You already know how I feel about them so enough said.

I have to ask, Man United finished 33 points behind their hated rival Liverpool. Why did they deem it necessary to get rid of Lukaku, Young and most of all Smalling? I thought Smalling was on the wrong side of 30, he's only 29. Who were his defensive partners, were any of them as good as Gianluca Mancini? All three of them have fit well with their respective Italian clubs...Young going so far as being Serge Ibaka by becoming a runway model. United are richer than Roma (who still need a stadium), I'm expecting them to challenge next year. If they start out flat Solskjaer will be sacrificed in favour of Max Allegri.

Gianluca thinks the world of Chris. There are rumours that Arsenal want Smalling, no way Roma's new ownership will allow that to happen.

Man City has an investment firm connected to the government of Abu Dhabi not Bahrain, and Smalling isnt staying at Roma, damn shame, he was playing really well.

Big mistake by Roma not making the loan permanent, the player who will miss him the most is Gianluca Mancini. Harry Maguire is three years older than Mancini, will he accept Smalling's direction? So Manchester City has unlimited funds from the Emirates - nice. They shouldn't have any problems signing Messi.

Mancini's prospects of starting for The Azzurri next summer have improved, Bastoni didn't play well in the Europe League Final. He's still very young and this is a bitter lesson for him.

Too bad about Smalling:

Are United going to bring him back? If de Gea leaves for Real they could do a lot worse.

The man didnt want to stay, what did you want the Roma board to do? hold him hostage, feed him carbonara till he gave in? Roma have new American ownership now, I am hoping they can make them successful again, this is a club that deserves to be competing with the likes of Juventus and Inter, not like languishing mid table.

According to only revenue stream, Tottenham is the richest club in the EPL.

Didn't know that media mogul Adrea Radrizzani owns Leeds United. He's the founder of Aser Investments and owns his own sports station called Eleven. Temporarily worked with Suning to facilitate the sale of Inter Milan to the Chinese Shipping company.

There was a concentrated push by the referees and VAR during the second half of the season to propel Penchester into the champions league, with Penandes being the main beneficiary. They topped the VAR table of having most VAR calls go their way. They got awarded the most penalties ever as well I believe? . Many of them bs, and countless times VAR was mysteriously sleeping when they should have had key calls go against them. Im guessing they had a 50 goal difference swing with all the referee favouritism.

I think that you are right there. Somehow ManU do get many decisions going their way. Even there were matches where I thought that the referees were very forgiving for some of the tackles by players like Jones. Normally, some of his horrific tackles should have seen him being sent off. But on one occasion the player who bore the brunt of his studs ended being red carded. A decision that was subsequently overturned when the club challenged it. They should have had a system where the officiating individuals should also get some strikes against their names in such situations, and eventually suspended from refereeing.

In a perfect world Gumba, in a perfect world.

Rome is a major EU hub with a growing population. If you included the big suburbs of Tivoli, Palestrina and Frascati, it has half the population of Lazio. Unfortunately Regional politicsis a labyrinthine beast which James Palotta didn't understand. The Regional government is tied to the nostalgia of the Olimpico. Hopefully the Texas Friedkin family can get the project done. Neither Roma nor Lazio can compete for major European Trophies as long as they share a stadium.

Jose Mourinho just made a $69 million bid for Nicolo Zaniolo, that would be disastrous. Roma has never recovered from selling Alessio Romagnoli to Milan.

Looks like he is going to stay put at Barcelona:

Only Man City could afford his salary, leave alone the Pounds sterling 700 million fee. Most English Premier Division Clubs do not even have a net worth of half that sum!!

Man City defeated PSG 2-0 in the second leg and 4-1 on aggregate. Chelsea v Real Madrid will once aging decide whether this will be a final between two English Premier Division teams.
Chelsea hold the upper hand with a draw away from Home. But todays game between Man City and PSG should a very ugly side of a team like PSG that cannot accept that the opposition was the better team and so they deservedly had a player sent off.

As expected Man City have been crowned PL champions. More important........WAY more important......... my beloved Burnley have secured PL status for a 6th consecutive season thanks to 2-0 away win at Fulham :D Not too shabby for a little Lancashire town, population circa 75k, working with a budget a mere 'drop in the bucket' compared to most PL clubs. Coach Dyche has pulled yet another rabbit out of his hat, the man is a genius at bringing together a bunch of 'journeyman' players year in, year out and cementing them into a cohesive, usually difficult to beat, unit. Survival this season is Dyche's finest accomplishment considering the short off season, no fans to cheer us on, many injuries to key players etc, etc. (y)

Burnley have done well to stay up. I think that they are here to stay. My tenant is a bit disappointed after her team West Ham lost to Everton. That was one of the slim chances they had of qualifying for the Champions spot. Now they have to battle with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and maybe even Arsenal who beat Chelsea today to give them a glimmer of hope to get into the Euro Cup.
