The Jays have 26 games in July (including today's game) with 16 at home.

I think that a 16-10 in July would be respectable. That would put them at 54-38 which is on pace for 95 wins.

They have very similar strides.
Actually for a guy his size and girth he runs much better than I would expect.

About todays game......Tampa's pitching has been decimated by injuries this year.

And it's showing lately. But McLanahan is up tomorrow and he's been pitching lights out this year.

He looked devastating when I was watching him against the Yankees. It will be a good test for the Jays hitters.

Speaking of which Gurriel is in one of his torrid streaks now. I expect big production from him going into the break.

Great game today, great ceremony for RM55 - class act for sure - the vide/culture on that team is contagious! I was smiling so much today just watching them.

You're correct about Kirk. I'm surprised how many times he gets that extra base. I think he has good base running instincts.

But unless he gets into better shape, I can see his performance declining quickly by the time he reaches 30. Catcher is a demanding position even for a guy that's fit.

Captain Kirk is adorable at everything he does, his defense has improved considerably since he first came up...he no Garry Sanchez.

Dante is in town but he's hard to pin down, I thought he'd show up at Vlad Sr's box to say Ciao.

Love it when Vladdy and Kirky do the jumping up and down "Bear Hug" after Kirky hits a HR.

Lots to enjoy but I still think the Jays need more pitching to go deep. Pitching didn't give them a chance to win either of today's games.

The Jays dodge a bullet, Kevin Gausman only has a contusion on his right ankle. Apart from that they squandered a double header due to lack of pitching depth. Jays hitters couldn't supply the run support when needed.

Sad news for the first base coach. Losing a young kid like that ready to start her life.

You usually come out on the wrong end any time you hook up with a boat propeller.

So when is the movie going to start Vladdy. He is swinging at balls that sometimes not even close to being strikes

This season is going to slip away if they don't turn it around soon. I have more faith in the bats picking it up than the pitching. Ideally they need 3 pitchers: another reliable starter, a reliable long reliever to replace Stripling who is needed in the rotation, and a hard throwing reliever (preferably lefty). Too few hard throwers in the bullpen.

Now with Janssen coming back soon...they have one surplus and that is catchers. Trading one ought to bring us a very good pitcher and maybe a left handed bat that is better than Zimmer. As usual the hype is that all 3 are somehow indispensable and too lovable to be traded.

I think that the Jays have turned the corner. The A's only beat them by 2 tonight.

and Kikuchi pitched a 2 hitter
Lol and he only hit 2 batters. Batters don't even suspect a brush off or a purpose pitch when Kikuchi hits them. They know he just can't find the plate, shrug, and head to 1st base.
