If this is the "movie" it's been a rather dispointing one so far 😒
If this is a movie, it must be Groundhog Day. How many times can the Jays give up 2 or 3 runs in the 1st inning. Montoyo should demand that the pitchers throw more quality strikes.

Watch out Jays, the Orioles are coming. Probably a better team than the Jays right now. Jays might finish last in AL East.

They certainly do not look like a playoff team right now. So called superstars - Stringer, Bichette, Guerrero have very ordinary stats. Pitching thinner than Caleb Joseph. And yes, the Orioles have been winning, several other teams close enough to overtake Jays for last playoff spot.

But congrats to the ballot box stuffers to get Blue Jays to the all star game.

LOL , Borucki gets win against against Jays last night in extra innings.

Good pitching match up tonight, Manoah against Robbie Ray, who has been pitching like he did last year lately.

Nate Pearson, the hard throwing righthander, who showed amazing hard stuff when he wasn't injured, has recovered from mono and has now returned to the injured list again when he hurt his lat during rehab.
Will this guy ever get off the injured list? He seems to be a permanent fixture on the IL.
It is my belief that the Jays will tire of this shit and will DFA him soon, in spite of his potential, especially since he's 25, soon to be 26, and he has made only 17 appearances with the Jays with the same number of appearances with the Bisons in AAA with sporadic success. Perhaps another team will tolerate this injury-prone bullshit.

Time for some regime change, fairly obvious Montoya has lost this team. I'm just about at the point of asking for a refund to this "movie".

Disagree. I don't think that he has.

My point was that there's nothing that Montoyo, or any manager or pitching coach can do, if a pitcher is unable to throw strikes. The same as if batters are unable to show discipline at the plate. They are swinging at lots and lots pitches way off the plate.

It seems the opposing pitchers get out of the 1st inning on 8-10 pitches while the Jays pitchers are throwing 20 or more. I think that Robbie Ray just had a very quick 1-2-3 first.

I put the underachieving squarely at the feet of the players. They were 12 games over about 2 weeks ago and all was good. It makes no sense that the players would quit on him.

Hard to tell if Montaya is partly to blame. Too many players are simply underachieving too often. Pitching has been terrible most games but Manoah just pitched a gem. Unfortunately the bats were mostly quiet and they lost again.

I hate to admit it because he is such a nice guy, but it looks like this is the only answer. Things are going bad fast!

I would love to see a Tobacco chewing/asshole manager. The kind of guy that fights Rob Dibble in the dressing room.

Or where the hell is Joe Carter, why can’t he be a manager?

I wouldn't bail yet...it was always going to be difficult, they're not going to win the division and are in a wildcard dogfight...they can't let July bury them thou.

Maybe you’re right. I just want to see a dog fight with a fighting manager. Even Pete Walker would be good.

They need something. A swagger or an attitude! I hate the thought of us overvaluing the talent.

I speculated some time ago that Russell Martin would make a good manager. He would get mad with all this losing, but great cheerleaders and so many "all stars".

I was disappointed when the Jays didn't hire Buck Showalter when they had the chance. He can be an A-hole, but can have some success when given a decent roster.

In addition to making some fundamental errors in the field and on the base paths they have to pursuade Vladdy to switch glove manufacturers altogether. He's had two balls go through the webbing of his trapper which would have been sure outs. That is ridiculous.

Giv'em a catcher's mitt, that should solve the problem.

From Universal Pictures: Twins II, starring Dikembe Mutombo and Alejandro Kirk...they make everything better.

I feel bad for Charlie, the Jays showed a noticeable lack of grit when they collapsed against the Rays. Charlie looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Hopefully John Schneider can revive this team enough for playoffs baseball. I wish Jose bautista and Josh Donaldson were still on the team - attitude makes the difference.

The Jays should sweep the 4 game series against KC, they have 10 players on COVID restricted list, they will be playing essentially a AAA team.

I agree. If they don't, I don't like their chances of qualifying for post season play. Good opportunity for Gausman to return from injury.

I called this a while ago. With the insane vaccination requirements to get into this country you're not going to see the best of the visiting teams.

Not sure why anyone would relish beating a team depleted of major league talent.

Also teams considering trading to bolster up their roster for the off season have to take the likely hood of crossing the boarder into consideration as well.

Why trade for someone who will be denied entry.

Terrible situation for those involved.
