The goal is not to cut deficit.0.16%. That’s how much president Musk is going to cut the US deficit by after he fires all those government employees he deems unworthy.
I know, like when Musky boy said there’s no conflict of interest between his companies and DOGE cuz he’s not the one physically signing the contracts lol.The goal is not to cut deficit.
The goal is to gut federal agencies that can provide oversight into Musk's and other billionaire's business practices so they can do whatever they want.
The deficit, woke stuff are just distractions for the likes of Mitchell76 and Richaceg. lmao.
At first, I thought Keanu Reeves or Ryan Reynolds would make a great Captain Canada. Then I realized Dwayne Johnson has some Canadian ancestry. The Rock would be a real good choice.Like hulk hogan or kid rock ?
CNN just reported 70% approval rating...to the disbelief of their own hosts...lol
they are missing the bigger picture and no doubt their calculation is biased0.16%. That’s how much president Musk is going to cut the US deficit by after he fires all those government employees he deems unworthy.
As of January 2025, the U.S. government pays $392 billion in interest on its debt, which is 16% of the total federal spending. However, interest payments are projected to increase significantly in the coming years.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that interest payments will total $952 billion in fiscal year 2025 and rise rapidly throughout the next decade — climbing from $1 trillion in 2026 to $1.8 trillion in 2035. In total, net interest payments will total $13.8 trillion over the next decade.

Okay, just DM Elon all your personal information and he’ll get started fight away.Would absolutely love to see a DOGE up here in Canada to see how much of all our hard earned money is being wasted and given away .
If passing rigorous audits and paying down the debt is the concern, why aren't they investigating the Pentagon's books.they are missing the bigger picture and no doubt their calculation is biased
they just want to kick the can down the road again...the US govt is running out of road.
Musk figures he can cut big $ out of government spending. >>> let him have a look , if he is wrong that's Trumps political headache
if the left continues to roadblock him, well, that becomes their political / legal nightmare, independent of whether Musk s right or wrong about potential savings
if there is nothing to hide, then there is nothing to be concerned about . But Nooooooo. they are going berserk
The American Taxpayer wants to know.
anywhere there is other peoples money (the taxpayer) being moved, has to be able to with stand the rigors of an audit
your two video clowns are wrong about USAID , it was not created by congress. JFK created it by executive order.
The Secretary of State established USAID as directed by Executive Order 10973, signed on November 3, 1961. The agency was meant to implement components of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961
in addition to downsizing, a cultural shift in govt is required to stop the debt bomb from exploding
and the those government employees he deems unworthy are the ones pushing money out the door, and it appears without any fiduciary oversight
I see this claim was Monday, so "just reported" was probably the weekend.CNN just reported 70% approval rating...to the disbelief of their own hosts...lol
does it really matter to you this early to his term? it's a little over a month...should we start keeping tabs everyday just for Trump to see his approval rating go up or down? does it really bother you that he's getting a good approval rating? swallow your pride...just admit that somehow, what he's doing is getting positive feedback for a change...I see this claim was Monday, so "just reported" was probably the weekend.
Please show me this CNN clip?
They have no concern for the debt or deficits.Where's the concern for the debt?
Whether claims are factual does matter to me.does it really matter to you this early to his term?

The reason timing matters is because with so much being done so quickly, polls will be going out of date quickly.it's a little over a month...should we start keeping tabs everyday just for Trump to see his approval rating go up or down?
Of course it will bother me if he is getting a good approval rating.does it really bother you that he's getting a good approval rating? swallow your pride...just admit that somehow, what he's doing is getting positive feedback for a change...
538 still has Trump at 48.3% approval versus 47% disapproval: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/approval/donald-trump/Whether claims are factual does matter to me.
I know this annoys people, but I'm not changing on this issue.
Thank you for the clip, which is from 11 days ago, so Feb 10 so stretching "just" when you posted it, but perfectly serviceable.
It also shows that you completely misrepresented what the clip said, as you can see from putting what you said next to the actual screen shot.

The poll found that 70% thought he was "doing what he promised", not "a 70% approval rating".
Which makes sense! Trump promised all kinds of terrible things that he is clearly acting on.
I would be among the 70% saying he was doing what he promised if I had been polled, even though I clearly don't approve of it.
It's important to report these things accurately.
The reason timing matters is because with so much being done so quickly, polls will be going out of date quickly.
But to the general point, I agree that obsessive poll chasing is not very helpful.
That said, Wyatt brought polling in as supportive, I pointed out it was mixed, and you responded with more polling.
It's going to be part of the conversation, whether you like it or not.
And, as I said, with so much happening so fast, getting a sense of whether people are reacting to it or not is useful.
Of course it will bother me if he is getting a good approval rating.
The more proof there is that the population supports lawlessness and autocracy, the more worried people who believe in democracy and accountability have to be.
How far Trump can push some of the more repugnant things he wants to do will depend a lot on the public perception of what he is doing.
For instance, your clip focuses primarily on how while Trump had a net positive rating for only 11 days in his entire first term, he was net positive all 20 days of his second (which was when that clip was recorded.)
Of course, that was February 11. Yesterday, the same guy looked at the same averages and the trend lines have all turned against Trump. (It's like what he is doing isn't popular or something.)
(Interestingly, this clip doesn't appear to be on youtube, unlike the one with positive numbers for Trump).
still better than biden, better than his first term...Whether claims are factual does matter to me.

That's not a majority.538 still has Trump at 48.3% approval versus 47% disapproval: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/approval/donald-trump/
So the majority of the country still approve what Trump is doing. But nice try, Lefties
No, because is well within the margin of error, and therefore statistically insignificant. That's not a majority.
And yes, both of those averages put him as slightly positive instead of slightly negative.
Both also show the same downward trendline.
So everything is in agreement.
He started his second term in a better position than his first, and over the first month of him doing things, he has become less liked/more disliked
By that argument you can't say he is positive at all, since that's within the margin of error. No, because is well within the margin of error, and therefore statistically insignificant.
Try harder
