Whether claims are factual does matter to me.
I know this annoys people, but I'm not changing on this issue.
Thank you for the clip, which is from 11 days ago, so Feb 10 so stretching "just" when you posted it, but perfectly serviceable.
It also shows that you completely misrepresented what the clip said, as you can see from putting what you said next to the actual screen shot.

The poll found that 70% thought he was "doing what he promised", not "a 70% approval rating".
Which makes sense! Trump promised all kinds of terrible things that he is clearly acting on.
I would be among the 70% saying he was doing what he promised if I had been polled, even though I clearly don't approve of it.
It's important to report these things accurately.
The reason timing matters is because with so much being done so quickly, polls will be going out of date quickly.
But to the general point, I agree that obsessive poll chasing is not very helpful.
That said, Wyatt brought polling in as supportive, I pointed out it was mixed, and you responded with more polling.
It's going to be part of the conversation, whether you like it or not.
And, as I said, with so much happening so fast, getting a sense of whether people are reacting to it or not is useful.
Of course it will bother me if he is getting a good approval rating.
The more proof there is that the population supports lawlessness and autocracy, the more worried people who believe in democracy and accountability have to be.
How far Trump can push some of the more repugnant things he wants to do will depend a lot on the public perception of what he is doing.
For instance, your clip focuses primarily on how while Trump had a net positive rating for only 11 days in his entire first term, he was net positive all 20 days of his second (which was when that clip was recorded.)
Of course, that was February 11. Yesterday, the same guy looked at the same averages and the trend lines have all turned against Trump. (It's like what he is doing isn't popular or something.)
(Interestingly, this clip doesn't appear to be on youtube, unlike the one with positive numbers for Trump).
