Especially because the majority were pro-Israeli to start with as evidenced by them being 61% for the motion even before the debate started.

Don't people donate to the cancer society in the hope of providing a cure. Patients also have need for money but they don't do medical research.
If I wanted to help people with cancer I am guessing there would be other go to groups that focus on that.
