Contractually, you are correct. But Marner is human, with emotions.

He is not very popular right now around here. The majority of fans want him gone. What if he blocks a trade that the fans feel would improve the team? There will be backlash. What is it going to feel like when he and the wife go out grocery shopping or a movie or restaurant and they hear some catcalls or rude comments. What's it going to feel like when he gets booed on the ice, something he's never experienced before. It's close to home, but it may no longer be a friendly place to play. He has emotions. He may beg to get out of town.
Exactly. What if he goes to a movie and has his SUV stolen.........oh wait, that happened already.

LOL.

TBH, he seems like a fine young man, but between him being called out on the bench by his teammates on the bench, his pussy ass hissy fit response to said calling out and him subsequently getting out hustled on the series winning goal (whatever mistakes others made on that goal does not absolve him of that poor effort at 11$M) has left a bad taste in the mouths of Leafs fans. This will not be a welcoming place for him to play or his wife to have a blissful home.

I think the Leafs should trade him in the offseason before the other teams hear of his uncomfortable life here. They will get a better return than if they see the Leafs being "forced" to trade him.

I'm not a capologist, so if the Leafs are forced to retain some of his salary, does that count against their cap?

I'd sat that there is a 17.82% chance he'll start next season in the Blue and White.

Look at the way Florida covers McD. It's not one guy chasing him around all over the ice wherever he goes.
Everyone is in position to hand off. Rielly was positioned smack in the middle of the defensive zone.
Guess where the puck went. In the middle of the defensive zone.

Certainly Marner deserves criticism but when there is hate for a player everything is his fault.
Shades of Larry Murphy. He's a fricken Hall of Famer.
If anything the fault lies with management and probably Shanahan.
They built a team after 8 years with no defense and goalies off the scrap heap.
The time to trade either Marner or Nylander to balance out the team was when they had leverage.

From thehockeywriters excerpt:

"Fans Should Not Expect Any of the Core Four to Be Moved
Trading one of the Core Four players would open up enough room to sign both Domi and Bertuzzi. Still, the buzz about the team dealing one of them has cooled off lately. Perhaps the spin from hockey writers and fans that John Tavares or Mitch Marner could be convinced to give up their no-move clauses to be traded has been tossed into the clickbait dumpster where it always belonged."

With teams like Oilers and Panthers around, What hope does the Leafs have for winning the Cup, Core 4 or not? Time to fire the GM.

How is there an update on something that hasn't changed? Is it like an update that "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is STILL dead."? SMH.

Title should be, "We have some more useless rumours for you".

Well knowing the Leafs management, they'll sign Marner to an 8 yr extension. I'm posting anything that even suggests that the Leafs will finally get rid of Marner, once and for all!!

Marner is a playoff loser!!

What connection do these guys have to actual insiders like GMs or other people close to negotiations? Who are the sources for these amateurs? I'm sure that guys like Elliotte Friedman and many others on national TV have actual connections.

They are not insiders. They have no connections. They are 2 youtubers looking to make money and that's it. They also clearly use clickbait to get views. So you know whatever they say is not worth your time. There are other youtubers just like them.

I bring up the point of irony since mitchell (no relation to Marner) proudly brought up their youtube link since he likes anything relating to Mitchy being traded but the big announcement they have is that he's likely to extend with Leafs.

“Mitch Marner disappears in the playoffs” One of the coolest parts about X is the having the ability to communicate with thousands of people who live in an entirely different universe. In my native reality, Mitch Marner is ranked 28th overall in points-per-game in the playoffs since he’s come into the league among players with 25+ playoff games played. Tied with Barkov and Ovechkin. That’s higher than all other Leafs, Panarin, Bergeron, Tkachuk, Stamkos, J. Robertson, and plenty more. Again, this is from the time he was a rookie - a wee lad. He’s 12th overall in the last 3 seasons with the same filter - and again, 1st on the Leafs. There is a SIGNIFICANT drop off, league-wide, in playoff scoring. This is not a recent phenomenon. There are 33 players with a point-per-game pace or better over the last 3 regular seasons. There are only 13 players at a point-per-game pace or better over the last 3 playoffs - Marner is one of them. Yes, even with his less productive post-season this year. This narrative that Marner disappears in the playoffs is weighted far too heavily on the confirmation bias of disgruntled fans online after the Leafs get eliminated. It is not rooted in reality. Full blown Marner Derangement Syndrome. There are plenty of justifiable reasons for trading Marner. His ability is not one of them. Here’s a quick highlight pack of Marner in the playoffs over the last 3 seasons for those of you whose bias has turned 16’s jersey into an invisibility cloak (courtesy of Danny9 & HockeyAllStar5):
