I did some in depth analytic research and I may have a detected a very subtle pattern here. It's probably too complex to explain.
Well he was consistent for those two 14 goal seasons. And going by this patter he'll either score 13 goals or 12 goals this season.
Why are you throwing out season goal totals that occurred between 2012 and 2019? How is that in any way relevant, when OEL has averaged 6 goals a game in the last 5 seasons.
In the 5 seasons before their signings by the Maple Leafs, they averaged the following.
Klingberg - 63 games, 8 goals, 31 assists, 39 points
Ekman Larson - 65 games, 6 goals, 22 assists, 28 points
Also Klingberg played 67 games the year before has signed. Not 17. He had 33 points and 10 goals. (OEL was 80/32)
Wouldn't those recent year be more relevant than throwing out peak seasons from 2015 and 2016. If we are going to look at peak seasons from several years ago, might as well cite that Klingberg had seasons of 67 and 58 points and OEL never topped 55.
Neither was / is going to really elevate the PP.
That being said I do prefer OEL over Klingberg signing as he is a more complete defenceman, and he did not have a decline from the prior year before signing, It's not a good signing, but not really bad either. It's OK, and I suspect the will be go back to Sweden once he has a bad year.

I got some other analytics for you Shack - those numbers from S88 are from 2012 to 2019.
If you want to look at a more recent trendline for your analysis it goes like this... 9,5,5,2,9.
That being said for 24/25 I don't think its a bad signing, He may need to be Robidas'd though in the final year or two of that contract.
Indeed Klingberg did play 63 games the year prior to being acquired by the Leafs. My error. Your assessment is a good one. I concur. OEL was the 2nd most utilized Dman on the PP for the Panthers, a Cup winning team. Bottom line is I don't know how anyone would consider him a bust already of which Klingberg certainly was.
All of Domi, Bert, and Reaves also looked terrible to start the season. They looked better later into the season though. Not saying Klingberg would have as well but with his injury he never got the chance.

I certainly agree that OEL should be better than Klingberg, even though I crapped on him as #1 PP player (perhaps #2 PP time) He's very competent in the 4/5 spot, this year anyway.
More complete player coming to Toronto, and Klingberg was hurt early - no reason to believe OEL will get hurt like that.
Yeah, I saw that from your previous post. I took his post at face value and assumed those were somewhat recent stats.

Seeing as he was the 6th overall pick in 2009 one could say he hasn't lived up to his potential. However, he's good enough to have played a regular shift for the cup winners and is durable, having played 80 games last year and has decent size at 6'2".
So yeah, I have no issues with the deal. Seeing will be believing.
Uh-oh. Apparently Hakenpaa has medical issues and the signing is not being announced as official yet.
Because Jani wanted to test free agency, he suffered an injury probably why Dallas didn't sign him.

So he's damaged goods. Soon Tanev will be too just like Muzzin. At least Robidas Island won't be so lonely.
