The Big Bad Panthers roll into town. Even without Gudas they are still bullying teams. They bullied Ottawa last night. Picking on Korpisalo daring Ottawa to brawl. Even 5'9" Lomberg was getting in there scrumming. Florida is the sole reason Reaves was brought in. I suppose Bert and Domi as well. There is zero chance you're going to see a fight between Reaves and Tkachuk or Bennett. They won't accept the fight. Other players on the Leafs will need to step up if a brawl breaks out. Perhaps that's why they put Marner with Bert. To step in if Tkatchuk starts slapping Marner. I don't think anything will sway the way Florida plays. Not even Reaves but it'll be interesting to see how Reaves takes on this assignment against Florida.

... and Saturday rematch vs Boston. It'll be interesting to see how they address Marchand. Probably nothing. They're the Big Bad Bruins for a reason. The team will protect Marchand. No one really wants to mess with Marchand anyway. He'll likely give you a cheap shot as retribution.

not always sure...
That article is only 3 hours old but it's already out of date in one respect:

As of right now, the San Jose Sharks and the Toronto Maple Leafs are tied with just 5 wins each in regulation time.
Both have one more regulation win than the Chicago Blackhawks.

I blamed Keefe for how he handled the Marchand fiasco. He was given the personnel exactly for that type of situation and he blew a chance to take a stand. Bertuzzi treated it like a laughing matter was plain stupid. Looking back over the years under Keefe, the team always let other teams get away with cheap shots and bullying without due responses.

Leafs have only 6 regulation losses.
Only 5 teams have less and only 2 teams from the East both Division leaders in Boston and NYR.
In a league that provides 3 point games the correct strategy is to play more 3 point games.
Hence having very few regulation losses is a good thing.
The correct strategy is to not lose in regulation during the regular season.
Winning in regulation or winning in OT is still 2 pts.
Losing in regulation and losing in OT is a difference of 1 point

How are they doing the very same thing this year.
9 players have played for the Leafs this year that have never played a game for the Leafs prior.
They're also playing Woll who was a 3rd stringer to start the season last year.
They have turfed out plenty of players. Just from last year Bunting, Engvall, Gustafsson, Kerfoot, O'Rielly, Lafferty, Acciari, Schenn, Holl, Aston-Reese.

Leafs won a hard-fought game, the game was physical as Florida likes to play, Marner took a puck off his chin, and Gregor got a high stick that left him bleeding but Gregor scored the tying goal and the shootout winner. At first, it looked like Even Rodrigues won the Shootout for Florida but it's a double tap, like scoring on a rebound which isn't a legal shootout goal. Woll played great. I wonder who got the belt, Gregor or Woll.

Kudos to Woll and Gregor.
Let there be no question about Marner's toughness and dedication. Toughness isn't just fighting, it can manifest itself in other ways.

Leafs have played 9 overtime games of 20 this season.
Stanley Cup Champs Vegas has 8.
The record is held by Boston with 30.
Leafs on pace to break this record.
