Nylander streak ends, 0 points.
His stock is dropping, he will have to ask for no more than 10.75M.
Looks like the beginning of a horrific slump, may have to take 4.5M

In that case we're serious Cup contenders.
Knowing the Leafs luck, they can construct the team the be playoff-heavy and hit until the other team crawls but they still won't win the cup. Burke built the Leafs on size and truculence and they failed.

I think the Tavares contract comes off the books this year or next. Maybe that money will be used to re-sign Nylander?

I've had enough of Samsonov.

Dubas drafted four goalies in six years, it's time that they be given a chance. Of the goalies drafted by Dubas: Woll, Petruzzelli, Denis Hildeby and Artur Akthymov. The problem with Canadian teams, you don't win by being risk averse. Rick Tochet appears to be the only one that understands that concept.

Both Tavares and Marner have another year after this with no movement provisions. If they do resign Nylander, there’ll be even less cap space to improve the defence which imho is not good enough to contend.
