Lafleur was a heavy smoker and that was probably what caused his cancer. However, I can remember quite a few other Habs who also contracted cancer.
Pat Burns 58, Nyrop 43, Larocque 40, Roberts, Lupien, Wickenheiser 37, Kurvers 58, JC Tremblay 55 and maybe more. Guy Lapointe is currently fighting cancer.

Actually, I said nothing that tried to convey that.
The world knows that Lafleur smoked.

Cause of death was probably lung cancer but nothing official has been publicly released and may never be released.

Here's a link with some more details. If I was still living in Montreal, i would definitely attend.
"The church is located at 1085 Cathedral Street at the corner of René Lévesque Boulevard and Metcalfe Street, near the Bonaventure metro station and Central Station in downtown Montreal. It and the connected Archdiocese main buildings form the eastern side of Place du Canada, and occupies of dominant presences on Dorchester Square." It is very close to the Sun Life Building.

I actually lived on Greene Avenue in Lower Westmount at the time. I would walk into the Alexis Nihon Plaza and walk out just across the street from the old Forum. Our company had season tickets and I would occasionally get a couple when they were available.
Never been inside the Bell Centre. Tried unsuccessfully to get tickets to last year's playoffs.

When I was still living in Montreal we use to go to Bens but that was 5 lifetimes ago. It was also just down the street from McGill.

There was an interesting article a while back, which i can't find right now, that tried to explain why such an unusually high number of Habs contracted cancer. The theory that was advanced was the Zamboni fumes. So, is it possible that Zamboni fumes also contributed to Lafleur's illnesses and eventual death?

Hardly a bust. He played his first season in the NHL having just turned 19, making the big team right away. He was played sparingly that season to bring him along slowly, per what the Coach and GM had stated publicly they would do with him at the draft. This season as a just turned 21 year old, he played in all but 3 regular season games with slightly increased playing time and recorded 31pts. In the playoffs so far, he's averaging about 16mins per game, and has 5pts. in 8 games. Also worth noting he plays on the third line, not on the first line with their top tier players like say Michael Bunting does.
I'd say Lafreniere is exactly where the Rangers want/expect him to be in his development.
I agree. Given the Rangers depth at LW (Kreider and Panarin) and Centre (Zibanajad and Strome) it's about all you can expect. By the time a prime slot opens up on the top two lines he should be a complete hockey player who is ready to step up.
Although a very different type of player there are some parallels with Guy's early NHL career. Guy bounced around between Centre and RW in his first 3 years and rarely on the top line. RW Yvan Cournoyer was at the peak of his career when Guy broke in and got a lot of PP time.
Moishes Steakhouse is or used to be just up the street at 3961. I think Moishes closed and then was reopened downtown under new ownership.
Correct Moishes will reopen in the fall on sqare victoria. Now managed by Sport Scene (who own the Cage aux Sports franchise).
