Agreed but still can't get let it go that he let Mike Miburry of all people fleece him in a trade.

He didn't have much say in the matter, Stavro sabotaged him. He wanted Wendel Clarke back with the Leafs, Fletcher traded defenseman Kenny Jansson and the 1st Round pick in the 1997 Draft (Roberto Luongo) to bring him back. Leafs management has been a House of Horrors with poor Mats Sundin as the latest sucker.

I hated that trade the second I heard rumours about it. I always believed Kenny Jonsson would've been a top 5 defenceman in the league had he stayed in Toronto Clark was injured as always which is why Fletcher traded him for Sundin in the first place. And Mathieu Schneider never wanted to be a Leaf.

Cliff brought as as close to a Cup in my lifetime as anyone. That trade for Gilmour was an epic fleece job. RIP to a brilliant hockey mind and a good guy.

Pat Burns brought out the best in him, he would go through a wall for Burns.
Burns brought out the best in everyone.
It almost seems like a dream that we once had a hockey team and management like that in this city.
