... and that makes a difference how? It was just a reminder to him that he makes big/stupid mistakes sometimes; point made.
But doesn't everybody? Look, I don't want to make every thread about you and I going toe to toe with insults. I simply want to be a part of a conversation. Lets leave the past behind us. No insults, pictures with captions, none of that. Please, let's have a civil discussion.

Well, in this case I think there is hope they may be "rehabilitated" as I don't think they are hardcore criminals.
They certainly are hardcore rapists.

Then you're not paying attention. There have been a number of posts by you that I have not responded to with insults, just pointing out your errors.

Point taken, I just down want to drag this down to where the last thread went. And I suspect that you don't want that, either. Lets continue the conversation about this case.

Of course it is not her fault! What I am trying to say is when out partying try and drink responsibly.

What does the victim need to learn, how not to get raped?

It is not a woman's responsibility to not get raped.
It is the attacker's responsibility to not assault her.

While these kids were little abusive shits.. I do agree there are double standards. When I was in residence at uni, a bunch of the girls got together and though it would be a good idea to sneak into the mens communals and steal our clothes while we were showering.. then as we walked back to our rooms wearing a shower curtain they would ambush us and try and rip the shower curtain off.. I thought it was relatively harmless and funny, but when I think back and consider what would happen if guys did that to the girls? OMG!!! SEND IN THE SWAT TEAM.

I don't agree with the double standard. Sorry. I think it is wrong and say so in all those threads of female teachers abusing male students.

It is ironic that those who believe, agree and support this double standard share other opinions of where the fault, even partial, lies with this young girl as well.

you don't have to agree with the double standards... the bottom line is, they are there.

And, should she fail to drink responsibly, then what?

In my mind, both cases are unacceptable. I can not debate the merits of the double standard if I do not agree there is one. Sorry. It just does not work that way. So yes, I kind of have to agree with it to debate that point. As it is now, there is a stand still.

I do not think she is at fault for being raped simply because she was drunk.

I do not think the teenage boy abused by a female teacher is lucky to have gotten the experience.

Both are 100% victims. Hopefully they will both be survivors. No double standard.

Entirely agree. It is the difference between the law and what you would tell a male relative and what you tell a female relative.

I know that there will be TERBites who disagree, but Jessica is indeed correct in what she says.

At its most simple: the defence presented was that she had consented. The State's position was that she was so intoxicated that she was incapable of giving consent (and that beyond that, not that this needed to be proved in court she was so intoxicated that absolutely anyone should have said wait a second).

Based upon what I've read I'm not sure that is accurate.

Have you read this article, and the accompanying links and pictures, counselor?

If you have, and still hold that opinion, I would ask you one question.

Who, or what exactly, IS a hardcore rapist?

These individuals forced themselves upon this girl repeatedly, carrying her from location to location, violating her rights and dignity in virtually every way imaginable.

I wonder if her drinks were spiked. She said she remembered nothing.
teenage girls get fruity drinks that taste good like amaretto. they don't think it is getting them drunk so they chug. then 5 mins later they are unable to speak and the room is spinning.
