When did that change?
Must have decided to play Reimer at some point earlier today.
I was out in the car when I heard about 4:00.

Let's hope Reimer stays healthy so the Leafs can remain in playoff contention. Buffalo goaltender Miller for Kadri and 2nd round draft pick sounds like a good trade and throw in Gustavsson before he suffers another heart breaking set back.

Game day. Boston, Massachusetts.

Another tough one. The Leafs cannot beat the Bruins. A lot of it is in the heads of the Leafs, and it is not just their size and toughness. Other things factor in, in my opinion. The trade for example, Kessel is trying harder against the Bruins then he does vs any other team in the league.
If I could give Kessel a bit of advice it would be to just let it go. Do not think of Boston as the team that drafted you, but as just another stop on the 82 game schedule.
The game, Wilson should play the shit out of Franson, the guy needs to play without worrying about making a mistake.
Gustavsson starts tonight with Reimer(is back !) backing up.
The Leafs do not have to beat Boston, they just have to mentally survive then not worry about them again until March.
Oh Boy are you ever off base
Kessel struggles against Boston, but not because its the team that traded him
Kessel struggles against Boston because every minute Kessel is on the ice, so is 6'9" Chara
Boston is a very tough, intimidating hockey team, that causes all kinds of turnovers and outworks thier opponent

Buffalo would laugh at that offer
I doubt Burke would insult his counterpart with an offer like that

Boston showed us why they were the Stanley Cup champs...

Very organized and very disciplined and the players really work well together...

The young Leafs got to chalk up the two losses as a learning experience...
At least Reimer looked sharp...

Fucking Chara - that guy is a beast...it will be a huge loss for Boston when he retires.....

I believe it's a Leaf gamble with a player who has just suffered a concussion. Buffalo has a history of cropping young goaltenders thru their organization and Kadri would be a steal if he decides to shape into form.

I think Reimer could have used at least one mulligan. 3rd goal on the short side looked weak and I think there was another one from long range that got by him.

Having said that, Boston looked very strong at both ends of the ice. Just because the champs keep kicking their ass doesn't mean they haven't improved a lot from last year and have a pretty good chance to make the playoffs. They just gotta keep winning their share against the other teams and avoid the prolonged slumps.

the boychuk goal was a 90 mile per hour slap shot so riemer couldnt see it if he did the rebound would come out into the slot area

You are entitled to your opinion.
Kessel was able to get on the ice several times without Chara in the third last night. Were you watching the game ? I have seen him on the ice a few times without Chara in the games against Boston.
Last night on a two on one with Lupul, Kessel had the puck and held on to it until he only had a low percentage shot. He could not decide what to do, not the way snipers think. In my opinion he is trying too hard against them.

Yes, just keep winning and playing well against other teams. Get their share of wins as they have to this point and it will take care of itself.

Yes I was watching the game and I observed Chara in Kessels face all night long.
If Kessel was not thinking straight it was because he was thinking about where Chara was and how Chara might crunch him again
If you think Kessel was concentrating on trying too hard against his old team , you are entitled to your opinion, however you are probably very wrong.

Believe me, if you are playing against a mean, nasty 6'9" monster, you probably do have too mush time to ponder about making an impression on the team that traded you

I also observed Boston break up the majority of the leafs rushes @ or before the Boston blue line
Boston also foiled any leaf attempts at dump and chase as the Bruins were able to avoid any sustained fore-check with tape to tape passes out of the Bruins end.
Boston also beat the leafs to the majority of the loose pucks as well as forcing the leafs to rush their passes and turn it over.

I have watched 3 of the 4 games against Boston and the story has been repeated each time.
The Leafs are several players away from being able to compete with the Bruins.
I suspect the Leafs will make the playoffs seeded 6 to 8th because of their good start
However you had better pray that someone else upsets Boston, because if the Leafs face the Bruins it is over in 4 or 5 games

Let's not forget the Leafs still have something like 6 players on the injured list.
That is true , however even with those players available, the leafs would still not be able to compete vs. the Bruins

The leafs will also have a great deal of trouble with the Penguins now that Crosby is back
Philly is also a vastly superior team and if the coaching change in Washington get Alex OV to pull his head out of his ass, the Capitals should be a superior team relative to the Leafs
