I believe he donates his salary to charity and you're probably the only critic anywhere that says he's a burden to the taxpayer. His tax minimization (or value for tax money) agenda is noteworthy.
There's a double standard when it comes to Jack Layton.
I say you're nuts. Two nights ago on Talk Radio 640, the female broadcaster challenged anybody to show what good Olivia Chow has done as a councillor or MP.
I have a cousin who jokes "if Olivia Chow becomes Mayor, I'm not driving south of Steeles".

Rob's burden to taxpayers is a result of his slashing of services, raising of user fees, and building a useless Scarborough Subway (to cost us each thousands of dollars) simply to secure suburban votes..
please... time is more valuable than money.. how about all the times he was missing?... or out getting some crack?.. excusable?..Ford Nation loves to nit pick other councillors for their budget and missing meetings or council sessions.. remeber the city worker he fired because of a photoshot of him sleeping?.. why the double standard?

Burden to taxpayers for slashing services? That's illogical. Miller gave away the store to the unions with the vague excuse that taxpayers want their services. No David, we want value for money, not to be raped and held ransom.
The Scarborough Subway may not have been an optimal choice but I wouldn't call it useless. If it secures votes, that just means that Scarberians prefer or want it.
In any event Adam, I'm not voting for Rob regardless of my ramblings here as he's a train wreck. He should bow out. There are better candidates.

True but those who made fun of his weight lose credibility.
Carling, I'm not aware of his absenteeism or if it was chronic. I've only heard that from his sideline critics, but the reality is, the Mayor, any Mayor is a busy person and not always sitting at his desk. The Mayor is also the boss.
In any event, he's not in trouble for alleged absenteeism.
I'm not at liberty to elaborate, it's all going to come out, Doug Ford is shedding crocodile tears.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything? I wasn't defending David Miller. I was chastising Rob Ford.
The fact that Scarberians WANT a subway is fucking irrelevant.. I want a woman with huge fucking tits to come by my office everyday, sit under my desk, and blow me while I respond to emails.. It doesn't mean that it's the best idea (or justifiable if I choose to spend the money on doing such a thing).. It would be one thing if only Scarberians property taxes were going up. Then I'd be saying "Who cares, let them shit in their own bed if they want".
Guy, the Scarborough subway ain't ever getting built. Robby just promised it to the lower income families out that way in exchange for votes. He never cared if it got built. It's three small stops to nowhere. Politics is about keeping the ball in play, not ever about producing results. We've seen ford master that. He never kept one election promise and lied about all the rest.

Even with regards to Doug.. You have to wonder about a guy who claims to be all about "smart business" and then donates his salary. What's his angle?
Even if it's out of the goodness of his heart, it begs the question, is he really that irrelevant at his own business that they can afford to not have him around at all and still pay him enough money so that he can do shit like buy his brother a car? I run a small business (perhaps 5% of the size of Deco Labels and Tags) and it's largely a full-time job..
Maybe Doug really has very little to do with the ongoing success of Deco Labels and Tags..
Alternatively, maybe Doug Ford isn't putting in a full days work as a councilor..
