It's going to be a rough game Sunday for my Dolphins.
If the Bills don't rack up at least 45 points I'll be shocked.

Game is in Buffalo who are coming off a bye and a loss in week 6. They will be more than prepared. It does not bode well for the Dolphins at all. But it is a division rival you can never discount that. I won't be betting it but if I was forced I'd take the Bills to cover the 2 TD spread.

Week 8 best bets (2-1 last week)
Titans +2.5 @ Colts. Colts have been better after a not so stellar start to the season. But I like the Titans to win outright. They handily beat the Chiefs last week and the Bills the week prior to that. Defense has been playing much better too.
Bears +4 vs. 49'ers. Bears passing game has been dismal but the 49'ers haven't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard either. I generally like taking home dogs and getting more than a FG seems like a decent spot.
Bengals -11 @ Jets. Never thought I'd say that I'm confident taking the Bungles as a double digit favorite on the road, but this ain't your usual Bengals. These dudes are legit. Burrow to Chase is the in thing. Jets are just horrible coming off of a 41 point embarrassing loss to the Patriots. And to make matters worse they are playing with their no name backup QB. Luckily masks are commonplace because I'm sure many Jets fans will want to cover their faces in shame. That is if they even bother showing up.

Thursday night football like it or leave it?

I personally think it should be eliminated. Teams just aren't ready to play 4 days after their prior game. It results in an inferior product. The play is dull, sloppy and key players are often scratched when if they were playing on the Sunday they would likely suit up. It also sucks for fantasy and betting purposes.

I'd like to see it moved to Friday or Saturday nights. I get that it overshadows the high school and college ball but there's enough to go around. The only time I support Thursday games is on Thanksgiving.

I think that that's exactly why they picked Thursday. It was a night that was going to have the most people available with nothing to do.

The driving force for Thursday was that the network could get the best ratings. It's all about the ratings and what they could charge advertisers. The quality of the product is a secondary consideration.

The lions would find a way to lose if they were playing themselves - I almost bought into the pregame hype and picked them - good thing my better judgement took Hold

I heard on TV along time ago the NFL has a gentleman's agreement not to have games on Friday night or Saturday during high school and college football season.
Once NFL playoffs start in January college bowl games are on during weekdays. They couldn't compete against the NFL for TV time or audience.

Monday night football should be eliminated. Those Monday night games are far worse than the Thursday night games, Many of those Thursday nights games are quite good, especially compared to the Monday night games.

Sunday night games are the gems of the NFL, though.

Much needed, long overdue balancing of the scales "game" adjustments required:

1) Offensive pass interference and holding by would be receivers MUST be called on a par with defensive pass interference and holding by defenders.

2) Offensive "stiff arms" on defenders face masks MUST be called as "hands to the face" on a par as they are with defenders.

3) Offensive initiated "helmet to helmet" hits MUST be called on a par as they are with defensive "helmet to helmet" hits.

4) Kick offs must be moved back at least 5 or 10 yards.

Heck there are many 'adjustments' that the NFL should initiate to rescue the "game" from it's current "entertainment extravaganza and promotional blockbuster" schlock appeal.

Kick offs were moved up for player safety. That's why there are so many touchbacks last few years.
I agree with your other recommendations especially #2

I think the Monday night games have been pretty good for the most part. I just don't like the commentators. Griese is horrible!

I agree with all of the proposed adjustments you have listed here. I'm all for protecting the QB but its gone way too far. You breathe on a guy and its a 15 yard penalty. At least 2 of those calls on TB for rouging the passer were ridiculous.

It's gotten ridiculous almost to the point that the qb should be wearing a flag. That's why they are having record years. The first half of games isn't really worth watching. It has become more like basketball where the end of rhe game is the only time worth watching

If any of you guys have Henry Ruggs on your fantasy team, you up shits creek without a paddle.
Lots of legal and NFL suspension for DUI causing death on Sunday night.

He wasn't much of an impact from a fantasy perspective. He's bye week filler. At least he was until now.
What an idiot. Career is done and he'll be spending several years in prison and broke when he gets out.
I sincerely hope that the victim didn't suffer. My condolences go out to the family. Completely senseless loss of life.

They should also flag and penalize those QB's and wide receivers 15 yards and a loss of downs who:

1) stretch out their arms to each side, look here, there and everywhere and display a look of disbelief and utter indignation that a defensive penalty wasn't called.

2) repeatedly move their arm and hand towards their make belief pants pocket and pretend to pull out a flag like a referee in an petulant attempt to induce the officials to call a defensive penalty, when a defensive penalty was not called.

They're shocked I tell you, shocked.
