Habs Sign Goalie

The Habs' future is great as they will have Cristobal Huet as the No. 1 goalie and Carey Price, Jaroslav Halak, and Yann Danis as back-up.

The Canadiens have just signed Carey Price to a three-year contract that will pay the 19-year-old US$2.8 million ($850,000 plus a 10-per-cent signing bonus, per year).

This past season, Carey Price led Canada in winning the Gold at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden. He was named the tournament's top goaltender, the tournament's MVP, and was also named to the tournament's All-Star Team. He played for the WHL's Tri-City Americans this year. And last night, he earned a victory in his first pro game, making 27 saves to earn first star in the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs win over the Grand Rapids Griffins.

It's too bad the Maple Laugh$ don't have such a promising line-up of goaltenders.

The streets of AHL cities are paved with promising junior hockey goaltenders.
True......but Carey Price now looks more and more like a real gem!

2006-2007: AHL - Jack Butterfield Trophy (Calder Cup playoffs MVP)
2006-2007: CHL - Goaltender of the Year (Canadian Major Junior)
2006-2007: WHL - Del Wilson Trophy (Top Goaltender)
2006-2007: WHL - West First All-Star Team

Who's ready to see the Maple Laughs get embarrassed tonight by the Habs.

As you all know, the Habs have earned 11 points out of a possible 12 points in their last six games.

The Maple Laughs, on the other hand, are struggling.
