How can it be possible, for the two founding clubs, storied franchises with over 30 Cups devolve into unrelenting mediocrity?
They definitely deserve to be lumped together. Not much difference. 30 years or 50 years, they're both embarrassing.

not always sure...
AM34 has one.
Matthews "no trade" clause kicks in July 1st this year (Dubas was very generous that way with his RFA's), so if they can't sign and extend Matthews' contract before July 2023 they might consider trading him before that date, otherwise they risk his just walking away after next year and getting nothing back in return.

Leaf Jerseys will be on sale sometime this week.
You're too harsh.
I predict Leafs will win game 4, then the Toronto media fan-boys will celebrate them as obvious "STANLEY CUP CONTENDERS!!!" again for a few days until they lose game 5 or 6, then the same social media fan-boys will want everyone fired immediately from the ground up.

Evander Kane will always be a meathead.

It will be a shock if the Leafs win G4. What the playoffs has proved, top heavy teams don't fare well in the post season. The Oilers should have romped last night, instead they get blown out at home after Kane went psycho again. The Oilers have no two-way players and the Leafs have never solved their blue-line problems. Then there's Marner and Nylander who are excellent at eating quiche.

There will be no Canadian representation in the Final again this year.

Kane cross check with one second left in the period. . Give me a f'n break !
He was pissed because 3rd goal of Seatle should have never happened. Just 5 second earlier there was a stick in the face of a Oilers player. The ref was right there and did not called it! I can't fucking believe it.

Is there some kind of curse to make sure no Canadian team makes it to the final?

This Leaf team should be embarking on a deep playoff run. Instead their complete lack of determination, heart and sacrifice (particularly at the leadership levels) ensures another post season disappointment. Dubas is no doubt finished. Likely Keefe as well. Opportunity squandered.

Time to let go ...the GM, and the Head Coach. They will be eliminated next game....Enough is enough.
The writing is on the wall - this team is exceptionally unlikely to make it out of R2 barring a modern-day miracle. That said, this is Keefe's fourth year as coach. Consistently getting the most out of the talent he's given, and outcoaching opposing coaches in real time is his mandate. He's a failure on both counts. On that basis, I can't see any really compelling reason he should stay. The team's performance, consistency and overall success is not significantly better than when he started, and this post season he was provided what was considered by management as upgrades that he was supposed to leverage to help this team move not only beyond the first round, but deep into the later rounds. He simply hasn't got the job done. Everyone knows Dubas' story. I'd be very surprised if they offered him anything more than another low-ball, short term offer. Easy out for the Leafs and Dubas himself...win-win politically and PR-wise. After that, with new people in the captain's chair I would expect the necessary trades will begin.

Florida was 1 point from missing the playoffs. They lost their last 2 games but fortunately for them so did Pittsburgh.
Maurice was that close from being a failure to now a fabulous coach.

Just three weeks ago most betting sites had Florida first to bow out of the playoffs, now they are predicted to win the cup. Go figure . . .
Winning, and inspiring strong confidence you will keep winning makes all the difference.

yip, its call shitty and pretend to be blind referees in making a difference on the outcome of a game.

Florida = confidence, Leafs = total doubt since GM 1
Sidenote for bettors, I can't believe these betting sites are such odds scalpers, they are giving out 7:1 odds if the Leafs win 4 in a row. Come on man , I spit on that lousy 7:1 odds . . .

McCabe Brodie pairing has been on the ice for 6 even strength goals against and zero goals for including 2 game winners in round 2.
They'll be split up for game 4. Brodie will play with Holl and McCabe will play with Lili. Gio will be 7th D. He played only 6:43 even strength in game 3. Brodie played a whopping 26:40 total in game 3. Every other Leafs D played less than 21 minutes.
McCabe had 0:19 of PK time in game 3. Meanwhile Brodie and Holl had 3:30 and 2:55 respectively.

You are correct.

In today's NHL there is enough talent in the league to spread around. The majority of the teams that made the play-offs had that chance to win it all, because they have highly skilled individuals on those teams.

The difference is in the coaching. How the players are prepped before each game, how they are treated, culture in the dressing room, psychology, etc. During the game it is which coach is better able to match their talent against the other coaches talent, how lines are managed, how to motivate players, when to recognize who is on their "A" game, etc.

Toronto has simply been out coached. Toronto has a shit load of individual talent. It is just not being coached properly.
