Well, I guess it wasn't the fluke, they beat the Bruins.

The truth is, Florida played a good, clean, determined, team game. The OT goal was the perfect illustration of the whole round(so far) in 5 seconds- Florida wanted it more and the Leafs defense played well...like Leafs defense. This is still a team without a heart. Maybe next year, ROTFLMFAO!!
I agree. This is done.

"While a 3-0 deficit is extremely daunting, it has been overcome four times in NHL history, with the most recent time happening in the 2014 Western Conference first round when the Los Angeles Kings did a reverse sweep of the San Jose Sharks. The Kings went on to win the Stanley Cup that season.

Toronto has achieved this once as well in the 1942 Stanley Cup Final. They will attempt to start this comeback attempt Wednesday when they take on the Panthers in Sunrise, Florida, for Game 4."

I'm not very knowledgeable about hockey but my buddy pointed out Florida is a faster team than the Leafs. I saw that in full display today and sensed that those awful giveaways during the 3rd period was a premonition of things to come.

Desperation, determination, clearing the slot physically to play the man. That seems to win. -

I thought the Leafs would have played a stronger game, but at this point the Panthers want it more.

Perhaps their goal was to just win a round as opposed to wanting to win it all.

I was wrong in saying that the Panthers were the 8th best among all teams in the 2nd round, I forgot the Leafs were one of them. Tampa lost to the Leafs after they lost one of their key d man and all the breaks went against them, so It’s perfectly excusable for the Leafs to be down 0-3 with all their core guys missing, mentally that is.

It may be a blessing in disguise if they do get swept so ownership group can finally see that this core (Matthews/Marner/Nylander/Tavares/Rielly) is not good enough to lead this team to a championship and Dubas is not the right man for the job.

Marner isn't physically strong enough to withstand the Panthers forecheck, neither is Nylander. That allows the Panthers to double team Matthews, he can't find any open ice.

Sam Bennett (from Richmond Hill) was run out of Calgary in 2021. That didn't sit well with his line-mate Matthew Tkachuk who demanded a trade a year latter. Reunited they have been a wrecking crew all playoffs long.

Well we all agree Craig Button is a great authority on talent. This is the same Craig Button who once put future hall of famer Marty St.Louis on waivers and then watched him become a superstar with TB. Same guy who traded JS Giguere for a second round draft pick to protect Freddy Braithwaite in the 2000 expansion draft. Same guy who traded away Marc Savard in his prime for some Russian can of corn who never played a single NHL game. Same guy who lasted less than 3 seasons as an NHL GM and was then ridden completely out of the NHL on a rail 20 years ago.
I do not like this guy.

Watched Matt Cauz on TV say the Leafs outplayed the Panthers except for Bob. Didn't one of our members say that the goalie is part of the team and you can't say "except for the goalie"?

Matt also went on to say the 4 Leaf guys making over $40mm haven't scored a goal. Again didn't one of our members say the players play for free ($0) in the playoffs?
It's good to see that some things never change, eh Dartsy?

He got it right. If he'd simply said that the Leafs outplayed the Panthers without mentioning the goalie, he'd have been wrong.

Tough concept for you?
