bill nylander, decent player, but a lazy big floater imho.
Not as much this year from what I can see. He's been winning some puck battles.

That goal that he set up Rielly for a couple of games ago was a special effort.

It seems like everytime the opposition has the puck in the Leafs end I hold my breath because anything can happen. Not so much when the Leafs have the puck in the other end.

Kudos to Domi for making a great defensive play near the end of the game. Hopefully it can give him a boost of confidence.

The talking heads on TV said the Leafs did nothing when Liljegren was tossed into the boards by Marchand the other night.

not always sure...
Sabres should be a tough match tonight.
I wouldn't have predicted that...

The Sabres were on the second night of a back to back and got pummelled by the Flyers last night 5 - 1.
It was the Sabres 3rd game in 4 nights tonight.

Dylan Cozens was out after getting into a stupid fight with a Flyers goon at the end of the game, and there were several AHL call-ups in the Sabres line-up already.
Against the Flyers last night the Sabres looked horrible and were booed by their own fans.

I only saw the first period tonight against the Leafs but frankly the Sabres were looking pretty sloppy at that point.... was surprised to see the final score.

Don't know where this floater tag comes from.
Probably same place that tags him as easy to knock down or doesn't go to the front of the net.

Excerpt from The Athletic:

"His seven credited takeaways are tied for second on the Leafs with Marner (who led the league in that department last year) behind only Matthews’ 12. Relevantly, he’s also turning the puck over when he has it much less than Matthews and Marner are, with impressively just one giveaway so far this season. The latter stat is a pretty clear indicator of good puck management/protection for a player who has it as much as he does"
-2 again tonite, but hey, he got an assist. thats all that matters, good for him.

I say if the Leafs don't figure this out by Christmas or the New Year and fall out of the playoff spot, changes need to be made.

It's teams that build a balanced line up that go to the Cup Final. The LA Kings made the Loafs look like cream puff eaters. You cannot build a balanced lineup with three so called superstars sucking up the bulk of the revenue. The Edmonton Oilers have the worst defense in the NHL, if it wasn't for the San Jose Sharks, they would be the worst team in the NHL. Most of their revenue is being sucked up by Draisaitl and McYahweh.

You finally got a chance to find a game. Good for you.
You're sounding like the guy who after each game Matthews doesn't score rants about trading him for a bag of pucks.

analytics... thats all you and 90 percent on this thread care about. i get it, you think bill nylander is the next george ferguson. nothing wrong with cheering for your team, but at least be transparent and see it from both sides. the marchand hit was a hockey play nothing more, unfortunate liligren got hurt, but liligren did initiate contact did he not? hardest hit all night Pasternak wall papering reilly into the boards in the first period, didnt see tuff guy reeves chase him down and throttle him. if reeves wants to go next time they meet, trent frederic will be happy to accomodate. mr douglas and a couple of others on this thread, at least make valid points, all you other so called leaf fans, can go piss up a rope. sorry for the long rant, CHEERS ;) .

George Ferguson had great hair and so does Nylander. Too bad they wear helmets nowadays.

Ryan Reaves
86 minutes played
0 goals for, 8 goals against when playing
-8 in 86 minutes of even strength would even make the 1975 Washington Capitals blush.

Matthews 11 goals in 11 games ... Leafs need to trade him for a bag of pucks cause you know he has too many scoreless games.
