The Lancet is a medical journal whose mission is to analyze scientific studies submitted to them. They do not deal with war zones. They do not accept statements from biased sources at face value. There was not even a scientific study submitted to them.

Why would they? the numbers are horrific enough and they have years of experience knowing they will be checked.
